I am not holding my breath until I get a price.  It won't surprise me if it is crazy.  But this is a very small radiator compared to an R model.

The original has worked flawless for 25 yrs.  Even on the biggest, longest grade I run it just gets to 200* and just holds it.  It is a 9* grade in Pennsylvania.

I reckon it's cheap insurance on a good motor

I got the R model done, it was crazy expensive, I think all Australian Macks of that era came with the biggest radiator you could get

I can't remember the exact price, but it was over $5000 Australian

Back then, with the exchange rate it was about $3600 US

You probably felt the earth tremor when my jaw hit the ground

But compared to the cost of a motor it is cheap

Late 2000 teens, I had a recore on my 9670, and it cost $2150.00so not at all surprised by your figure. It wasn't the biggest radiator IHC put in that truck either. I'm sure the biggest would be close to what you paid.

add $400 to that price for the used radiator I bought to start the project.

Well, weekend update.

Dropped off radiator Friday.  They can handle it. $1200.  Well,at least it isn't $2000....  I told them to do it.  I was surprised how flattened out the fins were around the fan area on the back.  I'm surprised it cooled as well as it did.

I picked up the puller and started on it this evening.  Got #1 out.  Found out what the .020 stamped on deck.  Block bored oversize.  I need to make sure I can get oversize sleeves.  These were Mack sleeves.

You can just see the .020 on the deck by the sleeve.  The bore is 4.875, which is stock.  Apparently the dealer must have rebuilt this at some time and bored the block.  I knew it has been apart due to red silicone on gasket surfaces.

I will contact Mack and see if these are still available or if PAI has them before going any farther.  May have a large paperweight on my hands??  Might be in framing the 237 and bolting on 300 parts.

Time marches on ......

You can buy 20 thou over sleeves in Australia off the shelf

So I reckon it won't be a drama in the U.S. as ours probably come from the same supplier

If the link works in Yanky land you'll see STD, 6, 12 and 20 thou sleeves

Thanks for that Paul.

I also just pulled the front Jake housing off the 237 and found out the valve lash caps are the same for the 300 valve stems(.500), so I don't have to chase those down.
