Popular Post other dog Posted January 4 Popular Post Share Posted January 4 I used to run from Lynchburg, Va. to the Pittsburgh area a lot when I was driving. A lot. And the usual route- at least until they invented those E-logs it was the usual route- was I-64 over to Sam Black Church, rt. 60 west to Charmco, WV, then rt. 20 up to Nettie and rt. 39 to Summersville, then rt. 19 to I-79 to points north. Same thing coming back to Lynchburg, just in the opposite direction. Just before you started down the big hill to Charmco there was a fancy looking yellow and brown R model sitting behind a building on the left. You couldn't see it all that good, and there was just a brief period where you could see it at all. I tried many times to get a drive-by picture of it. I'm sure I posted some here, but I never got a "good" picture. And last night when I was looking at the "Mystery Hole" I looked on the street view on google maps for that R model- and there it was. That truck's been sitting right there for many years. I can only imagine the pride somebody must have had in that unit when it was running. Then I went back up towards Nettie to see if I could see the old GMC that they used for a yard dog at Happy Trucking. List "coal" as a hauled commodity on your liability insurance being based in Pennsylvania, then see what it does for your premiums . It takes a sharp insurance agent to word it correctly if you just haul some prepared anthracite. I haul a ton or two in my dump trailer behind my pickup every winter but it’s for personal use. It doesn’t take much to keep my little shack warm all winter. Years back when I moved in I started burning wood and they came out several times to check my meter to make sure it wasn't broken or I wasn't bypassing it. They gave up after the second winter. They should be grateful. I buy their gas for hot water heating, clothes drying, and cooking. I all fairness street natural gas in most cases the lowest cost per BTU of just about any mainstream energy source. I just prefer the radiant heat the stove puts out and how much more comfortable the house is vs running the gas furnace. Also I like to have options. I can heat with natural gas, coal, or in about 20 minutes after the coal fire would go out I could switch out the stove for a wood stove and be heating with wood. mowerman Posted January 7 Share Posted January 7 We had a brand new propane heater put in a few years ago to replace the old one that was wore out ,,, but we both prefer running the pellet stove as you mentioned the wood heat seems more comfortable ,,,, I thought that was my truck at a quick glance oooooooooooooooohhh by the way thanks for that ….
