GW,  i will likley use a nice toggle on the shifter. Im sorry about them being L.E.D.  but i want to be seen.  My original switches are stuck. I dont want them to crumble when I try to move them.  I was thinking about coating them with clear nail polish to stop the crumbling.

On my '42 all the original switches and pull cables were replaced with modern stuff. My '48 is all original. Replacement cab for the '42 has most of the orginal switches but one of the pull cables is gone.

I think i can really enjoy a thread like this one because we dont have to stick to a certain thing and step on a person's thread.

Ive got enough shop projects to last me 2 lifetimes I think, but I just keep rotating on them getting a little done at a time while simultaneously working them in with keeping up on trucking and repair and maintaining my everyday truck. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
