That could probably be said for about 99% of that generation, not just specifically democrats or republicans. They would all be upset with the way our country has turned out after fighting WW2.

This statement is true, however, not necessarily where I was going. The term "Eisenhower Republican" has a pretty specific meaning related to how he viewed certain issues. He was not a war monger having seen WWII first hand. He also was very adamant about the dangers of having an enormous military and is quoted many times on the record warning US citizens that defense contractors will coax politicians into looking for reasons to use the military abroad. He may have coined the term "military industrial complex".
