Returning to Whence it Came

Looks like a United van lines paint?

Wonder if the muffler actually rotted to nothing hanging there or before it got moved there?

Lots of old iron sitting in that lot.

Doh...I knew something wasn't right....but couldn't think of Atlas.

Took me a few minutes also.

It was nice in years past to have different colors or paint designs represent various businesses.  Now, the majority of rigs seem to be painted in "Universal Fleet White".

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

What is the dump on its passenger side? It's got a REO/ Diamond /ACar corporate cab but the nose is not familiar.  4 sale?

Looks to be an Autocar.  They had a fender that had the splash shield running forward in conjunction with the butterfly hood.

The louvers are some sort of an add on.  Autocar used flat hood sides.

I bet it is a DC75 Autocar or similar.  It is not really loudest on the hood.  It is rust running down off the Autocar Diesel emblem.

Good point about the emblem rust streaks.  It looked like louvers!
