When he started doing shows most of the trucks were from the 30's or 40's and now most of the trucks are from the 70's with almost no trucks from earlier decades. The older stuff didn't disappear, it's sitting in a building somewhere because the owner died or just lost interest. The heirs think the truck is worth a fortune, so it never sells, and now it just sits and deteriorates because "I'm not going to give it away." He has photo albums of hundreds of interesting trucks that were at early shows and have not been seen in years. 3 Quote Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are! Quickfarms Posted July 19, 2017 Share Posted July 19, 2017 There are actually quite a few reasons for this The most common reason is the owner is no longer able to show it for several reasons, lost interest, health, death, mechanical issues. One big reason is the vehicle was sold and is no longer in the area.The vehicle probably is in some private collection locally or someplace else A lot of the older are not driven much for various reasons. In a couple cases of some working show trucks I have seen them get totalled in wrecks. Had a Superliner near me with a small bunk and E9 that burned in a shop fire. The owner was from Zebulon, NC and was hauling classic cars to Florida.
