GOOG Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 I had a front flotation blow out, and wipe out the R/F fender on my RD688S tri-axle dump truck. Has anyone ever repaired a hood after this type of thing? I don't have any of the pieces that came off of it. I am trying to avoid buying a new hood for $1,800. Timmyb Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 I had a mate who had same thing happen on a KW. Try and find another bonnet so your repairer can take a mould. Or find a damaged bonnet going cheap to cut up. Its do-able but depends on price of labour. If you can get the section you need it is fairly easy to fix. Get Glass mat, some cloth and resin from a Marine shop like West Marine or a good body supply. Body filler use Gorilla Glass for doing Vettes and boats, it has fiberglass strands in it. If not than most likely find it in a salvage yard or find one in a fleet yard.
