  1. Looks like a Smith-miller. What a great find !
  2. You're becoming somewhat of a urban legend Ray.
  3. Thanks for the memories Rob. Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down. You know where to find us if you need anything.
  4. Another job well done by Ray and his Superliner. Great find Rob, good luck.
  5. Wow! What a great show. My wife flew up to Vermont and forced her parents, who are in their 80's, to come down and my daughter forced her husband to come up from Ct. Know what, they all had a great time. We looked at trucks and took a million pics, and when the old folks got tired they'd go back to the hall and sit for a spell, someone would come along and strike up a conversation, and before they knew it,they came away with a bunch of new friends.I had to crawl under the beautiful over restored AC model in the hall to figure out why it needed air tanks for mechanical brakes. I can imagine what a thrill it must have been to try and stop with a full load. Saturday I grabbed a raincoat and umbrella and went it alone, sloshing through the mud to get one last look at the Macks, Autocars, and Brockways. Couldn't believe that no one brought a U-model,that should give Vinny some incentive to get his on the road. Thanks to whoever brought Peter J's H Model, which I kept going back to and caught myself just standing in front of it, studying the details, RIP Peter J,your effort is appreciated. The H-63 that I purchased from Mr. Turpin is having the engine replaced by his son Matt. After that it will come home for paint and interior, and some of the details that Peter J already thought through will now be easier for me to accomplish without experimenting. I drove up from Atlanta on thursday and drove back sunday, pulled in the driveway at 1 am monday morning, so wired from vivarin that it was 4am before I went to sleep. Thanks to all of you for making the show such a success by being who you are, and you are good people. Tim
  6. Happy Mothers day all! Other Dog, My Mom is in Stuebenville today visiting her sister, I wish I was there, but a phone call will have to do for now. Back to the garage for me. Have a great day all. Pictures will follow shortly.
  7. I've been busy myself, but I always look forward to taking a minute at the end of the day to see what U model trivia Vinny has uncovered. I wish more kids had the focus that you and cousin Ben have. Keep swinging Vinny.
  8. Congratulations #2, hope you know how lucky you are.
  9. Your funny! Most of that came out by itself. I only shave that little strip around the sides.
  10. It's worth keeping. I think it gives an edge in earning power,Like shaving and brushing your teeth shows you'll put more effort into everything you do..... supposedly.
  11. Reminds me of the West Virginia hunter and the Pennsylvania hunter who came upon a goat with his head stuck in a fence. The West Virginia hunter wasted no time in taking advantage of the hapless goat. After satisfying himself, he turned to the Pennsylvania hunter and said, "you wanna try this?" The Pennsylvania hunter hesitated a moment then said"give me a minute to get my head stuck in the fence."

    Good Dog:

I wish you truck drivers wouldn't use profanity on this channel, I have my young children in the car.
  13. I love to turn on the CB when I have someone riding with me, and after a few minutes of listening to drivers bitch about Atlanta traffic, I key up and say " I have my small children in the car and I wish you truckers would stop using so much profanity" just to listen to the colorful responses.
  14. Wait a minute! I too was raised in an atmosphere of profanity, where it is considered not only a language, like spanglish or ebonics, but an art form as well. And I am deeply offended that the regional dialect of my people is dismissed so easily by someone who claims intellectual superiority over the fine individuals he's afraid to get to know. And while I respect Jairds right to post on this forum like the rest of us, I believe that he is uninformed properly on this subject by a diploma toting bigot. Piss on the professor.
  15. Marketing genius never sleeps.
  16. Drive careful Vinny, we wouldn't want you to wind up like this.
  17. What a find Superdog! Was that tag/pusher a universal add on, or a Mack assembly.
  18. I'd recognize that pierogieses making apron anywhere.
  19. You gotta stop. I'm gonna piss myself.
  20. I had the same experience growing up in the sixties. Got a paper route when I was eight, started with 24 customers and grew it to 50. I was making 10 bucks a week by the time I was 9. I learned to love the security of being able to rely on myself to always have a little cash in my pocket. It helped that my parents encouraged (pushed) me to be independent. I too, have home schooled my last 2 children through high school to both remove them from the negative influence of modern society and give them a realistic education on what they will need to know to survive as adults by letting (making) them work in my shop part time so they can learn what to expect from life, and hopefully in the process teach them how to conduct themselves successfully as adults. So far so good, when I lay myself down at night it's a comfort to say " thank God tonight, No one's in jail and no one's in the hospital. Bless us for tomorrow."
