  1. Its amazing how much history there is with one truck. This old girl has a lot in common with the late Joan Rivers.
  2. Any recommendations for the rubber buffer/bumper trim that runs around the cowl to cushion the hood? Mine has some cheap-ass stripping that is cracking and flopping all over the place. Seems there should be some good universal rubber strip that a guy could buy... and adhesive recommendation too???
  3. Yeah, I wondered why the steel frame when I was told it was a WL786LST. Who needs carfax?
  4. I would, if the price wasn't absurd.
  5. Here are all the part numbers necessary to fix input seal on those cursed axle mount Sheppard boxes. Note, these are only applicable to the lighter 392 series boxes used on 10,500-12,000lb axles: Mack part numbers: 8148-2370301 square O-ring $3 8148-2351251K hy-pressure input seal $30 8148-2350961 salt seal $9 8148-2351301 dirt seal $7 Save somebody a lot of time and grief with the counter VIN monsters..... Sheppard told me you could reuse the dirt salt seal if they aren't mangled or hard.
  6. Where is it? If there are no tags on the door(S), or seat frame... Is it located on the right frame above steer axle? I can't see a damn thing. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Applying for lost title and don't even have a VIN number! 1960 and a steel frame.
  7. Add another truck manufacturer to the long list of those who sourced the 'R' model IH cab. It certainly was popular in the fifties.
  8. I always liked the pedals in a General, very luxurious.
  9. I once stood at the traps at National Trails Raceway when the Top Fuels were running.... my eyeballs rattled in my skull, and it felt like an alien was clawing at my insides. Wicked doesn't begin to describe it. I was shell shocked after two runs.
  10. Yes, its home... leaked like a sieve the entire way. Sheppard guy tells me he needs more info. I know its a 392S, but the series number must be hidden behind that Mack specific pit man arm extension.
  11. Does anyone know if these Sheppard boxes are Series 3, 4, 5, or 6?
  12. Can stories like the ones posted above be found in Russia???
  13. she certainly ain't in a "family way"...
  14. Thanks.... I need to look into this PAi...
  15. Black culture in general has become much more violent in the past 20 years than it was in the 1960's. Current leadership most certainly bears some repsonsibility, agreed.
  16. A little known fact.... MLK was an incorrigible skirt chaser. Like so many 'great' leaders on the Left, a sharp divide between personal character and public persona.
  17. Really?! Who is this PAI you speak of?
  18. I know.... best part of that truck.
  19. Where do you find all this stuff???!!!! What year would the ad from above be? Interesting that my E9 has the oil filters and cooler on the opposite side, than the one pictured above. Not to sound stupid, but that Silk Road Mack actually traveled all the way to KZG from Norwegen??? How do Euro long haulers manage the language barriers (not to mention the laws/permits) when going across all those borders? Ron
  20. Wow, that did contain a lot of the information I was looking for.... The Silk Road Mack in the above picture is an E9 though? (Not a metric E9)
