  2. Normal might be too strong, but I've seen that passenger seat in several Macks over the years.
  3. 3 year bump.. I'm with you, I'd like to see some better pictures as well.
  4. I have only ever seen one.. does anyone have production numbers on E9 Cruiseliners?
  5. It is the M60. My father's involvement in Vietnam is almost entirely unknown to me, but I do know that he carried the M60. . . and that after being drafted, and subsequently sent to Alaska (Fort Greely?) to dig potatoes and haul trash, he volunteered to go to Vietnam to escape the cold and bleak boredom... the rest is mostly a mystery to me. I do know his older brother became a Marine reservist which I understood was the safe choice for him to make(?) while leaving his younger brother at home to help granddad farm... Dad drew the short straw. He was 19 when he left.
  6. My dad in Vietnam.
  7. A fan of Rand are you???
  8. I've tried and tried to get more photos of this old rig.. owner says he will, but never does.
  9. Remember this trailer?
  10. I like them.. and I'm even partial to the TD volvo engine and transmission.. smooth, efficient, and strong.
  11. Loads and Loads of 'em working hard grossing 74 metric tonne in Brazil.
  12. I've never seen an N14 (or an E model Cat) in a Mack, but there were a number built with the Cummins ISX. I've seen a CL Mack with a 60 series in it as well.
  13. Even better!... but I have serious doubts about getting a VISA as an American to Iran.
  14. Let me know if you go, I'll come along.
  15. What year was Hayward closed? And what was the production # of trucks produced there from its beginnings? Its curious to me that there were Macks being built there, but today you don't see ANY Macks in California.. or very few. I remember talking to a guy from the Bay are who bought a brand new Superliner in '81(?) He owned it for 35 years.. even he said he had the only one around..
  16. What does screw #4 do? I'm guessing screws # 3 hold down the baseplate.
  17. When I was a kid in the early 80's, every R-model a local garbage dump/roll off company had would smoke like that, every shift, every stop light, every hill... Vogel disposal... I credit that company and that smoke for my fixations on Mack!
  18. They were sent to me.. I couldn't tell.. I said I'd find out
  19. How about that steering box??! .. Not mounted on the axle like US Superliner 1's. They actually did manage to fit that frame mount box on those early frames. Very interesting. And I mistakenly thought that the "V8" emblem never appeared on the Superliners. I thought those were dropped with the R700's?
  20. I see a tip turbine scoop... so.. its probably a 285 now and could be a 300 with minor adjustments.
  21. Maxidyne sounds an awful lot like a certain banned TeamsterGrrrrl... Am I the only one to notice this?
  22. Was this also true for the Western Superliner's?
