How about that steering box??! .. Not mounted on the axle like US Superliner 1's. They actually did manage to fit that frame mount box on those early frames. Very interesting. And I mistakenly thought that the "V8" emblem never appeared on the Superliners. I thought those were dropped with the R700's? -
I see a tip turbine scoop... so.. its probably a 285 now and could be a 300 with minor adjustments.

Is a single frame CL a heavier truck than a CH? -
Looking at very clean low mileage CH613 with mechanical E7, Fuller trans, and Mack rears on Camelback. I've never drove or been around a Ch, just thought I'd ask for any thoughts or opinions on the model; short-comings, misgivings, strong points etc. It has the set back axle and is a day cab. Thanks in advance.

I need two. -
My cushions (the foam at least) appeared to be glued to the metal backing... . . I'm not familiar with upholstery work, do you think the foam could be replaced?

I was having a hard time finding anything new under $1000. The plate under the seat should be able to accommodate most any seat then?

My Mack still has its original Bostrom seat that I've contemplated replacing in the past, now it's become much more urgent update. Last night a cat got into the cab and matriculated on the drivers seat, thankfully I found it straight away and pulled it out before sunup. Now the question is, what do I replace it with? I know almost nothing about truck seats, or what "style" I need to be looking for. I don't get around other trucks much to compare, and was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. Is there a common mount used in the industry or is it all custom fit for an 1980 Mack? Thanks

Never realized how much those Scot trucks resemble the Scania trucks from their Nordic neighbors.

I've looked at a few CL's in my search for a V8, and all the dashes seemed to be falling apart.. loose fasteners etc... was there a durability issue or just abuse?
