Two-Stroke Detroit Diesel Fans Looking For Others...
yarnall replied to JumperAndSon's topic in Engine and Transmission
I have a Hahn fire truck with a 671 and a 5 speed and a Hamerly fire truck with an 8V71 and an allison automatic. I like the sound of the 671 much better and it is much more fun to drive because of the 5 speed. Mike- 42 replies

Scania-Powered B 60 Project
yarnall replied to JumperAndSon's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Welcome to the forum. Your B60 looks like a great project. I have a parts truck that might work for you. Where are you located? I'm southeastern PA near Reading. Never heard of Delmont. If you are close you could come and look at the truck. I also have some front end parts that could be bought by the piece(radiator shell, fender filler panels...). Mike 610 764 8283- 7 replies

I'm told they are planning on selling the Wellington F model that was donate to ATHS. I had been stored and maintained by a club in New England, but they had no say in the disposition of it. They said if it was going to be sold they atleast wanted the money they put in to maintaining it and they would donate the money to another charity. ATHS said they'd give a certain amount, take it or leave it. They left it and disbanded their chapter. We'll see if the truck gets sold in May. It will be very disappointing if it does. Mike

Mack rigging truck on ebay
yarnall replied to Olivetroad's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Look at the Diamond T rescue truck. There is a Mack Jr, a truck with an L model cab and a B model hood all in that first picture. -
I'm glad you're keeping it too. Hopefully you can get it inside now. That truck deserves special treatment. Mike

B model sleeper to be on eBay
yarnall replied to h67st's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Great looking trailer and truck. I guess you won't tell us the reserve. I can buy 48' storage trailers for $1000, but they are not SS. What is the fire truck in the background? Mike -

That is a neat truck. It would be great to save it. You might even find a collector to buy the drilling rig. You can buy replacement headlights new. The hood would be hard to come buy. Hopefully that could be fixed. As superdog said, the fenders are made real steel and the dents can be knocked out. Good luck.

A year or so ago someone posted on here about wanting parts for this truck. I exchanged a few PM's with him. He sent a link to the Evil and Robbie Kinevel web site which had pictures of the truck in its heyday. Signed his emails RK which I assume is Robbie Kinevel. I could have been fooled. He said he got a cab from Dennis Meehan so didn't need anything of mine. Someone on here suggested he contact American Trucker which he must have done because of the show which aired last year. The show was a farce, how they went looking for it, but I guess that is television. Mike

I'll take them if you can bring them to Macungie. Mike 610 764 8283.

FOR SALE real cool aluminum sleeper, crank out windows, perfect for LTL
yarnall replied to turboscan's topic in Parts for Sale
I thought those windows were not correct for the sleeper, but I found this picture on the ATHS site. It is a neat sleeper. Wish I had a use for it. Mike -

mack hub caps
yarnall replied to bobgil's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
That style is on E and A models and some or maybe all L models. They do pop into the end of the hub. Nice find. Mike -
Rob, The truck cranks great with one 6 volt. It just won't fire. It some times takes over 5 minutes of repeated cranking to fire. Thanks, Mike
-
That is a great looking truck. Yours is an A model and the other is an E model. The E model preceeded the A model. They used the same cab, but the grill is different. I don't know about the hood and fenders. I think you have the serial number wrong. Please take a closer look. Maybe it is 75A1001? Does your truck run? It looks pretty solid. A little rubbing compound should go a long way. Looks like you have a great location too. I have a very similar truck to yours, 405A1002. It is in original condition with a few modifications. The body is solid. It runs great, but does not like to start when the engine is hot. Mike

FOR SALE B Model and A Model Parts trucks for sale
yarnall replied to yarnall's topic in Trucks for Sale
I was really hoping to sell whole trucks. George, If you want to "hide" one of the B models at your house indefinitely give me $1000 and I'll through in a title and some extra parts. I'll even tow it to your house. Mike -
That is a really neat truck. I would love to have it, but it is way out of my price range. It is really hard to set a value on a truck like that. I had someone call wanting to know if I wanted to sell my H613. I thought it over for a while. I don't know what it is worth in non-running unrestored condition. I know what I paid for it and that I wouldn't sell it for that. My father said tell him $15,000. I didn't think it was worth that much, but was afraid that he might so I told him I wouldn't sell it. It is very hard to put a price on these one-of-a-kind trucks. A couple years ago I was trying to sell two old International fire trucks for a friend. I had someone from Australia who would pay the asking price and send someone to get them. The owner didn't want them to go that far. I did sell them to the great International heaven in Canada, but I got a couple thousand less than the asking price and they still didn't stay in the US. Mike
