  1. I transfer the title and apply for the antique license at the same time. I have my proof of insurance and the four pictures. I give all of that to the notary. The notary takes it all to Harrisburg. They call me to pick up the plate in a few days and the title comes in the mail with the antique title brand a few weeks later. I have done it with many titles from Pa along with one from Mass and one from Ca. I have not have any problems. If I don't have the insurance card and pictures the notary will hold the title until I do. Mike The only trouble I have had is with the pictures; lettering, gold leaf, rust, dents.
  2. You don't have to change the title into your name before you get the antique title. It can all be done at the same time if you have the four good pictures of your vehicle. Also, Condon and Skelly is not writing new antique policies for big trucks. I tried last week. I was told I need a CDL if I am going to license a trailer over a certain GVW. most of you probably have CDL's though. The rest sound pretty good to me. I cover any imperfections with paper before taking pictures and take a whole bunch in different levels of light and at slightly different angles then pick the best 4 to submit. Make sure the windows are up. Mike
  3. I'll take them if you can bring them to Macungie. Mike 610 764 8283.
  4. I thought those windows were not correct for the sleeper, but I found this picture on the ATHS site. It is a neat sleeper. Wish I had a use for it. Mike
  5. There are several pictures of set-back axle F models on the ATHS site under Mack Monday. They are in Europe. I never saw on in person. Mike
  6. If you can come in June you can come to the atca truck show.in Macungie, Pa. It usually has 500 or more trucks and the most prominent make is Mack. You can tour the Mack factory and go to the Mack Museum. There are some local collections too. Otherwise come.for.Mack Day the first weekend in October. It is in Lititz, Pa. You can still go to the Mack Museum and the Mack factory. You are welcome to come see my trucks. We have a couple dozen Macks. We are 30 minutes south of Macungie Pa. Mike
  7. You can search it under the Mahan Collection. Its in Basking Ridge Nj. He was at John Harness' yesterday. I don'tknow how.he.is.for drop is, but his collection is amazing. Mike
  8. The white R model cab is acturally a Brockway 758. Three of the Macks are my fathers and 2 are mine. The Brockway is my fathers.
  9. That style is on E and A models and some or maybe all L models. They do pop into the end of the hub. Nice find. Mike
  10. Pretty neat. An open air museum like that would rust away here in Pennsylvania. I really like the E model. Mike
  11. Rob, The truck cranks great with one 6 volt. It just won't fire. It some times takes over 5 minutes of repeated cranking to fire. Thanks, Mike
  12. That is a great looking truck. Yours is an A model and the other is an E model. The E model preceeded the A model. They used the same cab, but the grill is different. I don't know about the hood and fenders. I think you have the serial number wrong. Please take a closer look. Maybe it is 75A1001? Does your truck run? It looks pretty solid. A little rubbing compound should go a long way. Looks like you have a great location too. I have a very similar truck to yours, 405A1002. It is in original condition with a few modifications. The body is solid. It runs great, but does not like to start when the engine is hot. Mike
  13. I was really hoping to sell whole trucks. George, If you want to "hide" one of the B models at your house indefinitely give me $1000 and I'll through in a title and some extra parts. I'll even tow it to your house. Mike
  14. That is a really neat truck. I would love to have it, but it is way out of my price range. It is really hard to set a value on a truck like that. I had someone call wanting to know if I wanted to sell my H613. I thought it over for a while. I don't know what it is worth in non-running unrestored condition. I know what I paid for it and that I wouldn't sell it for that. My father said tell him $15,000. I didn't think it was worth that much, but was afraid that he might so I told him I wouldn't sell it. It is very hard to put a price on these one-of-a-kind trucks. A couple years ago I was trying to sell two old International fire trucks for a friend. I had someone from Australia who would pay the asking price and send someone to get them. The owner didn't want them to go that far. I did sell them to the great International heaven in Canada, but I got a couple thousand less than the asking price and they still didn't stay in the US. Mike
  15. There was a long thread on here or on the ATHS site with pictures a month or two ago. Also someone recently wrote on here that they spoke to John and he responded that he is no longer in the old parts business. I talked to him a while at Mack Day and he did not tell me that. I do not have a number for him. You could probably find it in the web, John Chalmers Cashtown, PA. Mike
  16. From the album: Other Makes

400 big cam Cummins and double overdrive 13 speed. Moving a junk trailer.
  17. The company my father worked for had 2 R models that looked really nice. One had the hood green with the depressed area that the top and back grey. They other was blue with grey. The cabs were white. There is an old picture of an R model in the recent gallery pictures that is red except for the depressed are in the hood that is white. Something like that would look really good on your U model. Mike
  18. I was told that the F model day cab from UPS that is in the Mack Museum was painted with a roller, windows and all, when the mack museum got it. It looks real nice now. Mike
  19. Yes your truck is an E model. There were a lot of different models that looked like this. If you look in my gallery under "macks" you will see a similar truck. Mine is a Type 55. Like they said, look for the serial number plate somewhere in the cab, probably on the passenger side seat base. And don't run detergent oil unless you drop the oil pan and clean it out. I wouldn't worry about an oil filter unless you plan on putting a lot of miles on the truck. They are not full flow any way. I have attached a Mack add from ebay that might work to show you a type 50, but maybe not. I'll be at Macungie and Springfield. I might bring the Type 55 to Macungie, but not to Springfield.
