  1. I called him tonight. Told him I wasn't interested in buying it, but wanted to talk about it. After about 10 minutes he said it was being exported...to Canada. He didn't say exported. He said he bought it about 20 years ago and had to send the Horseshoe back after he got it. I didn't know that they had horseshoes on the H models. He said the Smith's were real nice guys to deal with. I asked him what he was smoking. Ok, I didn't say that. Anyway, he has a bunch of Macks that he would sell, H63, F model, B model. None of them sound great, but maybe something to start with or get parts off of. He is working on a B model for himself. Mike
  2. Gilbertsville had 3 U model's at one time, two tractors and a tanker. The tanker had originally been a tractor. I am told the one pictured ended up at Grandview, a local dirt track, as the track waterer. I have never gone to look for it. The other tractor was sold a couple of years ago. They told me $8000. I put a lowball offer of $4500 for the tractor and aluminum tandem axle tank trailer. I don't know where it ended up, but I think I have pictures of it and the tanker. I was given Gilbersville's R190 International that pulled a tanker before the U models. It went to a concrete plant and now doesn't have a straight piece of metal on it. As for PA Mack fire trucks, I have several. You should stop by and see them since you are near by. You can see some pictures in my gallery. I am having computer problems and am unable to post pictures right now. Mike
  3. You grew up in Wind Gap? Are you familiar with Amerman Lumber? It is a friend's family business. It is on the same road as Beers. They have a B20 or B30 rusting away. I bought parts of a Brockway 761 and an Oliver HG 68 from them. Mike
  4. This AB was bought as an antique. It sat in their office for years. I tried to buy it, but they didn't like my offer. It went to auction and they ended up getting a few hundred less out of it than my offer after the commission. That was not Ronnie's fault though. The guy who bought it put new tires on the front, fixed the radiator and got it running then drove it to Macungie. It is about a 20 miles. He had a $35,000 price tag on it. Firm. It did not sell. He was the auctioneer at the auction where I bought my AC and he had that in the sale. It didn't bring as much as he wanted so he did not sell it. After I bought the AC a friend, Keith Ernst, who did not bid against me, bought it. He has a great collection of Pennsylvania built trucks, Internationals and Model A Fords. He has some really neat and rare stuff and this was a great addition. I might try to buy it some day, but doubt he will sell it. Mike
  5. If your giving th MB a free ride I just might have to buy it. Mike
  6. Sorry for.the slow response. The trailer is most likely sold. Mike
  7. If you do take out the ENDT673 I might want to buy it. My H613 doesn't have a turbo anymore and I would like it to. I have no answer for your questions though. Thanks, Mike
  8. You can't fool me. They aren't Macks. My father was by your place the other day. Nice stuff. Mike.
  9. Nice mullet. I hear they are back in. The H76 is neat too. Mike
  10. I agree about the green and brown high binder. It looks strange. The fenders are higher than on the other trucks. My father just called an N model Ford a two story falcon a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember hearing that growing up. I said the Reo was the china closet, but it was really the Diamond T. I don't know if they had a knick name for the Reo's. Here is a better better picture of my AC pumper since someone asked about it even though it has nothing to do with cabovers. Mike
  11. That looks like a Paymaster cab now that I think about it. That wasn't a common truck either though. It's mine. Mike
  12. I like the period look including painted lettering instead of stickers. Of course trucks get updated when in use. That is ok, but more original the better in my book. Mike
  13. They had nick names for all of those cabovers. The IH was called the highbinder. Of course the GMC was the crackerbox. The REO was called a china closet. I can't think of any more. They are just nick names. I don't think Mack actually claimed to or wanted to make the tallest cabover. There was an article in Wheels of Time about so cabover Corbits. They were probably the tallest. You can see my H model in the picture. Mike
  14. Tom had about 75 Macks. Several trucks were given to friends. Several others were bought by friends. A bunch of trucks were scrapped, but I was assured that they really were scrap. They got much more for them from the scrapper than any collector would have paid. The Blue Arrow B70 was given to his niece. I bought it from her at Macungie last year. I had been trying to buy it from Tom for about 4 years. The parts were sold to Wayne Hetrick. I think he sold most or all of them. He had been given a B61 which he also sold. His health is not good. One of Tom's buddies got the Glascow B model wrecker and the last truck Tom bought which was an A40? dump truck. They were both at a local show last summer. I was sent some pictures of a very solid LJ dump, but the price was a little high for me. Someone bought it because it was at Macungie on a trailer with a Brockway that had belonged to Tom. Mike

    ATHS

I don't look at the ATHS website much anymore. I used to look at it every night for What Am I?, but now that it is on justoldtrucks, I look there. There are some people on JOT that either don't like Macks or act like they don't so I started posting a mack a day on the the Mack thread just to keep it in peoples' faces. I will continue my membership in ATHS because I love Wheels of Time. I also go to the National Shows when they are reasonable. It will be in York, PA in two years. Maybe I will go to Missouri next year, but that is a long drive. Each of the forums have their good point's but I like this one the best as long as I can avoid the political threads. Mike
  16. Is Morrissey's yard located right of 95 by Cansatter's. If so I was by there about 3 years ago and wanted to roam around, but it was a Saturday. Mike
  17. I sent you an email.with the.fuel pump information. You might.need a pressure regulator with that. Mike
  18. I looked at this truck in Dorr's lot in about 1999. I thought it was an R model with a Brockway grill and emblems, but now see some of the other pieces on it. I have some pictures I can scan if I find them. Dorr had several trucks at the ATHS show in Mass last year. What is the difference between the regular R model cab and the cab used on 700 series Brockways? Mike
  19. That fire/any fire is sad, but that H63 was not in it. It is in Ontario. Many of you remember George Kaiser's fire. I felt like a lost several friends and they were not even my trucks. Mike
  20. I heard about those burned up Volvos on the radio. They said it was arson and a terrorist group calling themselves BMT has claimed responsibility. They are trying to determine just who is bmt and what is their agenda. Mike
  21. Depends what kind they are and how nice they are. I could use a pair too. How about some pictures. Mike
  22. Wow. Never saw anything like that before. That is the Emeryville cab: IH rdf405 I believe, on those 2 cabover above. I figured you knew who owned the trucks in my pictures. Apparently I have seen a flip hood Hendrickson since there is one in the picture. Mike
  23. These are the only Hendrickson pictures I have. They are from the ATHS show in South Bend in 2011. I didn't write down any information, but I think they were all owned by the same guy. This is the only cabover Hendrickson I have ever seen. Mike
  24. Great thread. Definitely not something you would se in Pennsylvania. The green one with the sleeper is really neat. Mike
  25. Where is the truck located? What is the serial number? Does it have air brakes?
