  1. I'll step in here. It is "aerodynamic". Nothing to do with an arrow. It is the way air moves around things. Also, there is no A in tomorrow. Good work getting dirty though. Mike
  2. The picture from the back gave it away. I'm headed up on Saturday for it. Thanks for the lead. Just kidding. Good luck with it. Mike
  3. I've only seen one B67 with the big radiator. I don't remember if it had the concave cab or not. The options are independent. Value without pictures is tough $1500-8000. How is that for a nice big range? The big radiator would increase the value a little to someone like me and probably you. Mike
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1981-MACK-TRUCK-/251095433361?pt=Commercial_Trucks&hash=item3a76744091 Mike
  5. If it is a single frame the cab and chassis is probably in the 9500 pound range. As for batteries, just a heavy 12 volt battery. One will do it if it is not stuck. There is an L model tow truck for sale by me that I keep thinking I am going to buy. I keep buying other things though. Mike
  6. Great find. How about some pictures of the other stuff around it. You can go into "edit" and delete the unwanted posts. Mike
  7. That truck is pretty cool. It looks pretty complete. $3500 doesn't sound too bad. $2500 cash might buy it. It should have a EN401 in it. I'd put some batteries in it, run a little gas tank to it and see if it runs. It is probably positive ground. Having a fire extinquisher handy is a good idea and if you pour gas in the carb remember pour then crank. My father caught his had on fire a month ago when not following those instructions. You are probably close on the weight of the truck, but I'd bet that body weighs several thousand pounds. Good Luck, Mike
  8. Looks great. I really like the G models. But them I like most Macks. Hopefully I can come and see you collection some time. It is far away though. Mike
  9. My dad has an R685 with a stuck rack. We keep a board handy and the hood up when we start it so we can shut it down. We can move it around on its own power if we are very careful. Mike
  10. Post away. It is a beautiful truck. I wish it was in my price range. I hope it goes to a good home and stays in the country. I'd love to see it in person some time. Mike
  11. My father's B85 with a 707 gets about 4, but it is just a tractor. He also has a B422, but it is not road worthy. It would do better than the 707, but not great. Buy it just for fun. Mike
  12. Welcome to the forum. Nice to see that Macks are appreciated to our south. As was said, try Watts for parts. Mike
  13. That green Autocar next to the big yellow ones is the truck I posted at auction a couple weeks ago. The truck looked really nice. I'd like to know what he paid for it. Thanks for posting the pictures of my line-up. Sorry about the B70. I feel a little bad about it, but am really happy that I have it. Mike
  14. My father, my brother and I and a couple helpers. I went really well this year except for the 85 LS. Somehow it filled the crankcase with gasoline. We had to haul it home.
  15. Macks: 1988 RW 613, 1955 B85F, 1925 ACCD, 1951 405A, 1947 85LS
  16. Thanks. I did not buy the lj. I was just pointing it out as one of Tom's trucks. Mike
  17. Great little truck. I have a B46T with a flat back cab. It is pretty rough though. You can see it in my gallery. My father and I bought it out of a scrap yard to keep it from becoming Hondas. Can you post some pictures of the interior? How bad is the rust on the floor and the back of the cab? Thanks, Mike
  18. The show was great. I am finally starting to recover. A very big Thank You to Doug, Daryll, Terry and your families and everyone else who put in so much work to make this year the best Macungie Truck Show ever. The weather helped too. It was great meeting those of you that I met and great to see old friends. We still don't have everything back in the pole barn yet. I had a 5" concrete floor put in the addition to my pole barn last monday and had to keep stuff out of there for a week. I did not want to load it up right away at the one week mark. Also my fathers MH sank part way into my septic tank so I had to dig that up. Oh and I bought a B70 at the show. Sorry Ben. I had wanted that truck for a long time. The first time I saw it was at Macungie in 2003, just after Tom Zacny bought it. It sad outside in a field for several years until his buddy Mark cut down the trees and polished up. Mark kept it in a car port at his house until I got it. When Tom died last year the truck was given to Tom's niece. That is who had it for sale at Macungie. The guy who was refered to as the owner was Mark. Mark's brother, Brian?, got the Orange and Black Glascow wrecker from Tom's collection after Tom died. I don't know if Mark got a truck or not, but he still has several of Tom's trucks sitting at his house. Tom had about 75 trucks. Mostly B model Macks. The big LJ Mack on the trail with the Brockway tow truck was also from Tom's collection. The truck was sold to me because I was friends with Tom and they thought he would be happy if I had it. I think this was a way to figure out a selling price since they did not accept my offer earlier in the year. Mark and Brian were nice enough to drop it off at my house on their way home. As for the Superliners with V8's in them, I heard kept having touble with them when they first came out. They had to get the front ends repair because they kept running into the backends of other trucks going up hills. Mike
