This guy works this truck daily. It has been repowered with a 237 out of a CF. It is great to see it going down the road. Here it is parked in the lot at my work. We get him to do a lot of work for us. The B model definitely plays into the decision making process of who will get the job. Mike

You can call the Mack museum to find out the year while you are waiting on the rest of the information. It is best to know the correct year when you change the title because PennDOT will change the year when they are changing the title for no additional charge. It will cost you if you try to change it later. I have a 1960 B422T that is serial number 19070 so yours is probably a 1959 or 1960. Good luck and have fun with it. Mike

This truck belonged to a guy named JT. He was either from Philly or Jersey. He died of a heart attack about 10 years ago and wanted George to get his truck. I have a picture of it on the trailer heading north. It was claimed that IH did not make sleeper V model's, but here is one. I have seen other pictures since I heard that claim so they obiously did. I would not pay $16000 for an RL unless it was very nice. Oxidation on the frame could be a major problem. The cabs can rust very bad. Who knows the condition of the engine now. My father bought a 77 RL712L from California a few years ago. It has a 6 cylinder in it. The asking price was $6000. He paid less than that, but I am not sure how much. It is a good running truck and very solid. There is no rust on the cab and probably never was. There is almost no oxidation on the frame. The tires are bad and mismatched, though and the interior is a little tired. He had to pay $2500 or $3000 to get it to Pennsylvania. So for half the price he had a non-V8 RL. The V8 adds value, but can add a lot of headaches in the future if it is getting worked. Definitely go and look it over very well before you buy it. Pictures can be very deceiving. If you fall in love, buy it. If not, I would look for similar trucks and see how they compare for the price/value. Mike

Yes, that RL is my father's. It is an RL712LST. It has a 300plus and a 9 speed(?). He fell in love with it in California and had it shipped back. I am not a fan of the yellow and black paint job. You'll have to talk to him about it. Maybe he will leave it to you in his will. Mike

Thanks everyone. I actually committed to buy the ch a couple years ago.but only paid for it at Christmas. They needed money so I bought the R model to keep it from getting worked. I gave them the option to buy it back at the.same price when things are going better. Mike, How big is your building? We'll be over tomorrow after church. The wheel horse is a 1055. The motor has been replaced. They'll get it back with the R model or sooner if they want it. It seems crazy to think that that ch will be 25 years old in 2 years. I love the look now but I was disappointed when the company started switching over from all R models. I will try to post pictures from that era. Mike
