  1. I was talking to a couple of guys from the concrere pipe assoc. today of which I am a member of, well it seems that thay are losing a lot of there concrete drainage pipe business to plastic PVC pipe, an guess where the pipe is being imported from??? You guessed it! China, an since I deliver the portland cement that makes the concrete pipe? well you know the rest of that story--------------M/T tankers BULLHUSK
  2. One thing about a tubless tire everyone should be aware of now that winter an cold weather is comming. Never take a tubless tire out of a heated garage an try to mount it an air it up on a cold rim esp. a alum. disk rim I've seen one pop off an knock a guy out cold, not as bad as a tube tire but still something to be aware of BULLHUSK
  3. To Paul and the rest of you guys fed up with the junk, Try this web site. www.usstuff.com Just about any thing that you think you can't get made in the good old U.S.A.?? You'd be surprised what we are still making here. Ernie BULLHUSK
  4. Got my new grease pump today !!!! A $650 Lincoln !!!! made in CHINA !!!!! YES F--kin CHINA !!! Well I sent that sucker right back an bought A Alemite U.S.A. for A couple A bucks more. Then I called Lincoln's customer # an told the guy (why would i pay you $650 when I could buy A Sinjen for $150 built in the same sweat factory yours is built at??) Ya see the thing is, Lincoln's not savin us any money, they build them over there, put Americans out of work an want us to pay a premium for there product. Case closed BULLHUSK
  5. GG2, I've using Chassis Saver on the steel end frames of my cement tankers for 3 years now with NO prob.I also used it inside of my 361 Brockway's doors and cab corners and floors, before under coating and as Rob has said it is half the price of POR BULLHUSK
  6. I think the Cummins with the auto trans. out of a Dodge 3500 2 wheel drive would be awesome!!! BULLHUSK
  7. Yes you can shift the 15 speed Fuller progressive. Put your dash switch in D/R (low) then put your trans in 1'st shift from 1'st to 2'nd in low, then flip your dash switch to HI, then shift rour trans. back into 1'st then to 2'nd, then flip your dash switch back into low and shift your trans. into 3'rd then to 4'th an just do this all the way to 5'th HI, then pull your button up from 6'th to 10'th. If you want to do it the E/Z way just shift your trans from 1'st to 5'th in deep reduction flip your dash switch back to HI then shift your trans. back into 4'th then to 5'th
  8. RECEIPT'S,RECEIPT'S,RECEIPT'S YOU are so right! keep all of your receipt's!!! Credit Card statements with your fuel charge on it are N/G
  9. Silver Star, I'm pretty sure on the International DT, as like the Mack's; You should check your liner size (standard or oversized). If your liners are standard an you have to clean up the inside of the block sometimes you should maybe think about a 3 thousand's over size. Again I've never done a DT series motor. BULLHUSK
  10. Joe, The same thing happened to me ! I would get an email telling me that someone wanted to start a conversation from the Mack site but I didn't know how to find the freakin thing to open it!!! BULLHUSK
  11. There were two small cu.in. Diesels Mack used in the R400 & the MB 400 one was a mack END 465 & a END 475 the 475 I think was the Scania built motor the other was a Mack built, the one I saw looked like a mini 673 with a rotor style inj. pump BULLHUSK
  12. Greg, It's prob. New Process NP 205, if it is it's bullet proof. That transfer case is also gear driven not belt drived an also has a port for a P.T.O. It could also be a NP 203 (belt driven) if it is then it came out of a 2500 or a 1500 Dodge all the 3500 I think came with the NO 205 (in 1973) BULLHUSK PS that 440 is a good motor (torque monster) I've had a couple myself if you want a little better gas mi.? not much you can do, but if it's got a Carter Thermoquad on it take it off an throw it away. If your lucky you could have a GM Quadrojet carb or a Holley 4V on it if not get a AFB Carter or a new Weber I wouldn't go more then 600 CFM

That's loaded 80,000 & dead heading back, the same truck 08 with a 515 Detroit same 10-c trans 11X24.5 tires 3.90 gears 6.5 to 7.0 mpg all day long?? Cat guy said I need to EGE A ME KATE my drivers to find the SWEET SPOT??
  17. It used to be law in NYC all City garbage trucks were white an all private carting co.s had to be green, also tow trucks in the City had to be A certain color as well as gas trucks an fuel oil trucks
  18. We had A Clemco 800lb. blaster about 22 years ago, an it did a real good job but we also had a big compressor with a 238 Dietroit feeding it air. We had to stop using it years ago the state of N.J. will not let you sandblast
  19. John, Would you know were any of those Emeryville's are?? Also I spoke to Gerhart yesterday about the LM's. What we want to do is find an old Colonial S&S truck & mixer an restore the truck with its orig. red white & green cab & frame (Italian flag)along with the Navy Gray drum. As I have stated before I worked for Colonial even after they sold out, the new owners kept the Colonial name. I left in 87 to do what I'm still doing today. If you know anything about Colonial S&S they were around in the 30's right up into the mid 70's. they owned there own Tugboats (Bronx Towing) barges, Quarrys, Cement mill Kingston NY (Hudson Cement)& most of the sand pits in Port Washington LI NY an a whole bunch of other stuff that the Pope family had intrest in. There were hundreds an I do mean hundreds of ther trucks around the NY Metro area, But try an find a 15yd Colonial Mixer today?? BULLHUSK
  20. Rob, Ha Rob you out there!!! Maybe you can shoe/horn that motor into your R700 & sell me that V12TT Detroit LOL BULLHUSK Ernie
  21. I kinda thought so! I drove on of them out of W30th St in NYC about 37 yrs ago 14 yder's. Colonial bought them from Metro.R.M when they sold out in the late 50's Ernie
  22. Spoke to A friend of mine today, he told me that some one told him that Gerharts LM Mack Mixer's are old Colonial S&S out of N.Y.C. Does anyone have any info. about that or is it just B.S.?? BULLHUSK
  23. 1960 B81, The co. in Pittsburgh BVBS are they still around? or would you know of any of those IH' still out there? I would love to have one of those trucks today. BULLHUSK
  24. Rob, I sent your post out to about 10 people today, they all emailed me back an told me that it made there day both guys & gals!! Great stufffff!!!! Ernie DS
  25. B81, The reason for the deep subframe was to get the UNLOADING height higher, a lot of trucks with this type of mixer had 2 big pistions mounted at the rear in between the frame to lift the back end of the mixer another 2 ft. The thing about these mixers was, the mixer was flat (horz.) on top were two hatch covers you would remove before loading, then you would pull under the loading bin get your sand & stone 2 drops 5.5 in each hatch hole, then you would shake it down an pull under the cement bin for your portland cement after loading you would climb up the ladder onto the foot rail an put your hatch covers back on. Now the reason for this type of loading? If you didn't turn that drum you could save the load, it wasn't mixed! if you were the last load on lets say a 2 or 3 or 4 hundred yd. pour you did not mix that truck, if they didn't need your load you got your ticket signed an went back to the yard an used it the next day, I've seen trucks parked for as long as 1 week! also note. the 500 gal. water tank so you did not have to put water in the drum when loading, the met. stayed dry untill you added it when mixing.
