  1. I would pick the one made in the USA if there is one?? But in 1987 my R Model's had the LN an I wound up switching over to Delco after changing them a few times, but your talkin about trucks workin every day an pumpin cement Ernie
  2. Seems to be the Navy drive train of choice back then??? Really when you think about it, an R190 IH an a 260 Brockway with a 270 Cummins of that vintage(65) pretty rare I would think no? My 74 361 don't even have a turbo Cummins it has a Super 250 (927cu-in) natural!! I'm just psyched about this thing I think It's a pretty rare unit Ernie
  3. Yes, I just bought a 65 Brockway 260 tandem. When I called him about the tractor he told me it was an old Navy truck that the town of Linden wound up with, he said it had a 220 Cummins an 4X4. Well when I got there I opened the hood an there sits A 855 turbo charged Cummins!! After some investigating I talked to a guy that has one just like it!(got his name from one of are guys on site) seems these trucks were ordered for the Navy with a 270 hp Cummins but the trans. is a 4X3 whitch I think is a bit odd? the truck has 30 some thousand mi on it no rust an very clean Ernie
  4. I took a walk through Devinos yard on Wednesday, if any of you guys are looking for AC-AB chain drive's or B61-67 parts, this guys probably got em he has two nice b61 cut-offs, cabs look real good, I also seen some older Mack trans. TRD's laying around Allison auto's Fullers Spicer older Mack motors, he also has that real nice B42 Wrecker and also has a lot of newer stuff. Ernie PS I've bought stuff from these Guys, all good phone # 973-589-8111
  5. NA Mark, It would have looked better with a V12 with duel intakes much like the hood ornament has!!! and in the same matching color Ernie
  6. I'm gonna go back there today (he's got a nice TD 15 I'm tryin to get off him) I'll get the spec's an price, if I new how to post pictures i would take some and post them!!! I took a bunch of pic's of my Brockway & R600 it keeps saying there to big to post??? ERNIE
  7. Joe, OK if you open throttle wide open does the motor rev an then level off ? Or when you go to push, an the engine calls for power, you should hear the turbo an start to see black smoke. If thats not happening it sounds like your governor is not opening inside of your pump when the engine calls for power. But it does sound like a timing prob. but if you had that checked then maybe the gov. is stuck,an that would cause the engine to run in a no load, but again like I said before call the guy that set your injector pump up because if you do something to burn a piston or something like that those D342 motors are very $$$$$$$$ to fix
  8. YEP, your right!! THEAKERSTWO he had the pump off the machine!!!
  9. I was at Devinos truck parts & sales today, he has one of the cleanest an almost perfect B 42 single axle wreckers I've seen in a long time an it is for sale! It was owned by a local township an kept indoors, WHY DON'T I BUY IT YOU SAY??? cause I bought the 65 Brockway that came from the same place. BULLHUSK
  10. Joe, You probabally have the D342 motor in your D8K, and if you had the pump & injectors done and you have a question about it call the shop that did the injector pump before you touch it! Also check the travel on your linkage make sure when you pull the throttle down it doesn't creep, if I remember correctly that machine has a two peice spring loaded throttle rod under the hood, just make sure that it's not slipping back, look at your pump an make sure the throttle stays open. Did the machine have any of these troubles before you did the work? let us know is it smoking? hard starting did you bleed down all your injectors& lines did you check your fuel filter gaskets some times the old gasket sticks to the housing I know some of this sounds @#$%! crazy but this shit does happen hope some of this helps BULLHUSK
  11. I've been looking myself for one of those pictures, Hanks has one on his site but it does not have the 15 yd REX Horizontal mixer on it!! I worked for Colonial S&S out of the Newark NJ yard but spent some time in 151st street W 30street Staten Island ask your dad about Dave Pascurelli(Astoria Garage) Bobby Walsh, dispatcher Mario, dispatcher. some of the drivers i remember were a guy Joe Dimaggio (he looked just like him) Johnny Marinara (Johnny Sauce)all from that side of the river, NOW if you look under this topic, other trucks go down to MY FIRST MIXER an that was the very first Concrete Mixer I drove. I had that truck for three years then got a Crane Carrier with a 12 yd Smith HI-BOY Mixer I hope the picture helps Ernie Delli Santi PS what are your dad & uncles names ?? I still see Bob & Tony DiDiaro who worked over there
  12. Rob, The trailer looks good, but it looks to me that the the front deck is a little short for a tandem tractor a single axle would probably be a better horse to pull it with??? So if your just haulin the trucks then it's perfect Ernie
  13. Why, Thats the big question of the years end?? Less demand, the country is in tough shape?? So I guess the Fat Cats At the U.S. oil co's just care about the $$$$$ The sad part about it is that the US oil company's control the price not the A-Rabs. And if I'm wrong, well then I stand to be corrected
  14. Yah whats up with that?? I though it was just me? ya can't even see some a these guys
