Here in N.E. Indiana we're under a winter weather advisory for Friday. Beginning in the early hours we could see between 3-5" of snow but Saturday is mostly sunny with a high of 49*. Considering the temps I'd say we'll be closer to 3" if that much but I was planning to ride my bike home from the shop Saturday. Now sounds like it will be trailered home. I don't need that kind of mess on fresh paint.

No. The Freedom Edition MH that we had was an E6. I believe it was a 350hp but had had pump work done to it prior to our company buying it which lead some to say it was an E6 400hp.

I'm relatively certain these are Hallibruton Mack's. There was one, many years ago, in Garrett, IN that I tried to make an offer on. If they are Hallibruton then they should be Cummins powered.

A favorite for concrete pumpers too.

The CL did not have the E9 in it. I cannot remember which engine was spec'd for it but I believe it was a 454. The 1st two axles are lifts. They serve two purposes. To support the truck and to help stop it. A mechanic at Vomac took it for a test drive at some point someone had lifted the axles while it was at the dealership. Not thinking about this he had it up to 55 on the highway prepared to slow and make his turn, again the axles were up, he over shot his turn by a LONG shot. It was after this and an exchange between the service writer and Freddy Campbell, that I got a call, from Campbell's, asking me to please go to the dealership (At the time I operated the dealerships recovery truck) and test drive their truck to confirm the issues were corrected. Bill Bottoms passed away a few years back and I really don't know if B&B is still building recovery trucks or not. I've been away from that world for over 7 years now. Below is the truck I operated at that time.

This is a B&B (BIll Bottoms) rotator as well. It is rated at 85+ tons. Built for Campbell Garage in Ligonier, IN. Freddy & Dan Campbell called it quits recently so I don't know what became of the truck. I got to drive it one time and it truly is a monster. Weight with equipment onboard is between 82 & 83,000# per Dan Campbell but he could be a bit of a blowhard! In the 2nd pic the Ford has a B&B 35 ton stick on it just to give you an idea of the size difference.

The hood ornament is still centered on the truck. As long as the Bulldog is left of the white line so is your truck.

There was a long running thread from a member who built a truck to pull his race car hauler using a B85 (fire truck) and an International school bus. I very nice build. Phantom 409 maybe? I think he and Larry might have crossed paths at a race track or two at some point. I cannot find the thread of the build.

He shut down the Picture website a few years back. The forum board has remained.

Hank posted today that his truck forum will be shutting down in May of this year. For the past several years I have very rarely posted there but I checked it daily along with BMT and Just Old Trucks. Very sorry to see it go but Hank has been spending a lot of money out of his own pocket to keep it going and to continue it would cost him much more.

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome back a "ROOKIE" Mike Harbison. Mike has been on this board through two decades now like a number of us. I know he was having trouble logging in from time to time as Superdog so it would appear that he is now logging in as his given name.

It was one of the best I've seen. Flew under our radar for 3 years until Larry noticed it. I found 6 posts from it since 2017. Removed them and flagged it/him.

This is the only pic I have that shows any part of the underside. Maybe Mike Harbison (Superdog) will pop in. He has this truck now as well as several other F's.

I'd say a 9670 Binder. Stoops is a big Freightliner dealer in Indiana as well as Dayton & Lima OH.

I thought this topic was covered recently but I cannot find it. Converting a dump to a tractor wouldn't be difficult especially if the dump is already plumbed for trailer brakes as some are. A benefit to buying a dump is that if the bed and hoist is in good shape you can sell and get a bit of a return on your investment. Another benefit, although you probably wouldn't need it, is a heavier or double frame. Also if you are running a trailer with any kind of hydraulics you will already have the PTO and tank in place..

Was the right sand pad already missing when the customer dropped the trailer or is int still in the hole? Looks like it sank into the ground a bit. The left pad is bent like the trailer had settled right long enough to bend it it before going over.

I thought the B was introduced in 1974. We had 8 4070's leased to International Parts Group in '73 and in late '74 add 3 more which were 4070B's. This is a pic of the 1st eight. units 280-287. 288-290 were the B's added to the fleet the following year.

Why am I getting "- 200" when I try to upload photos? All of my photos are approx 600 X 800 in size. I have never had issues before. These are photos that I have taken with my own cameras & phones.

I no longer have any of my old trucks but this one was very special to me. I was the 3rd owner. It was ordered new by a well known & respected business owner in Allen county, Indiana who later in my life became a good friend. I felt honored to be able to put both of my wreckers in his funeral procession. The 1st picture of it was when it was nearly new on May 5, 1970. My Mom took the picture and I have kept it and others from that day in an album. The others are after I bought it in 2011. I later sold it to a fella who has antique IH farm tractors & he put a gooseneck bed on it to haul his tractors to shows. Well. BMT won't let me upload my other photos of it. I try in another post. Update, I was able to find the photo on the left here on the BMT website and use it. The interior was nearly as clean as new and the only body issues was the cab corners.

Cruise control was available on 1991 E7's. We purchased several CH613's with Cruise control. This was the one that I drove back then.

First problem is that the pictures are not of a DM....

My 70 F had the torsion bars. It was very easy to lift by hand. Probably easier than jacking the hyd pump...

When I was towing I was called up to the Indiana toll road to get a tractor on the eastbound side about a mile from the Ohio line with a bad right front wheel bearing. When I got there the driver and trailer were already gone. KW T600. I inspected and seen that the right front was leaning in just a little bit so I slipped the under reach back to the axle and lifted it slightly like always and that's when the right front leaned out and all the way off the axle and rolled clear to the bottom of the ditch! That driver was lucky, me not so much until a bit later when another tow company's service truck stopped to check on me. He had a much smaller winch/cable on his truck than I had on mine so he was kind enough to winch the wheel assembly back up, out of the ditch (about 30') and help me get it up and on the frame ahead of the 5th wheel so I could secure it there. Two lessons learned with that. 1:when it comes to pulling cable bigger isn't always better. 2:when it's a front wheel bearing, put a 2" strap around it & secure it BEFORE lifting because it might just be THAT bad.
