  1. It must be your "electrifying" personalities!
  2. And then they put beet juice or similar substance in the solution so it sticks to everything and can't wash it off.
  3. Definitely sounds like a dash ground issue. I believe MHfred stated the dash ground is behind the speedo/tach. Also check the ground for the switch panel. I had an issue when I turned on the headlights the fuel gauge would go to "E". I run a ground wire from the gauge to a panel screw. Also had an issue of no headlights. Found a loose connector on the dimmer switch.
  4. Glider uses VIN of replacement truck. Older VIN = older engine.
  5. You are correct. You can put a newer engine in an older truck but not the other way around. DTSLLC - you may get away with the swap but you can kiss your A$$ goodbye if you get caught.
  6. Run a Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) Type IV fuel economy test Recommended Practice (RP) 1109B. Have you tried a locking fuel cap and controlled refueling?
  7. Larry, Happy Belated Birthday. If you would list your birthday in your profile, we would have known. You can put in any year (depends on how old you want to be). Anyway, we all have to have a birthday....unless you are hatched!
  8. Jay Barbe owns that truck...BMT nick is fixit4162.
  9. Sounds like a ground issue. The MH fiberglas cabs are notorious for having ground issues. Check the main cab ground.
  10. Happy Birthday! Hope it was a good one! Be careful which cake you eat.
  11. Al, Good luck at The Buck. Actually I don't think the small town of Martinsburg could handle your burn out!
  12. Most fuel systems have a check valve on the supply side, I suspect it is located in the lift pump. I am sure someone on BMT is more knowledgeable than me. If I am wrong someone will hopefully correct my mess. Could also be a bad "seal" on the fuel filter. Either way it sounds like the fuel system is losing "prime" when sitting for extended time.
  13. Sounds like a check valve in the fuel supply line....letting the fuel drain back to the tank.
  14. This is what I know about fuel filters. Primary filters the "rocks and pebbles" and the secondary filter is for the "sand". The micron (pore size) of the filters are different with secondary being finer/smaller. Using a single filter may cause premature plugging.
  15. Just a reminder to this show. Looking for a good turnout. http://www.mcmp.org I will have registration forms at Watt's show.
  16. Al, You are correct and thanks. I corrected the dates in the original post.
  17. No Mack but looks good! May the truck serve you well.
  18. Marcel, Yes, T2050 5 speed OD
  19. Don S at the Mack Museum once mentioned "slippery shit" used on the ball/socket at the cab shifter interface. Not sure what it is but you might send the Museum a note and ask the lube. Ron - any suggestions? BTW, my shift is "sloppy". Tight would be better.
  20. Did you lube the shift linkage and the "joystick" under the cab? Clutch adjusted and linkage lubed?
  21. Are these the culprits?
  22. Mike, Yes, flat black because "I believe" it came from the factory that way. What are you suggesting? Ken
  23. Hey Paul! Where you been? I haven't heard from you nor seen you on BMT since prior to the Mopar Nationals at Carlisle (July 11th). Sure hope you are doing well and things are okay.
