  1. Stopped by the North Canton CVS this morning for my DOT physical. I was the first one in the door. The cute little blonde (Kimberly) no longer works there. However, there was a "reasonably" attractive female Nurse Practitioner (Leslie) on duty. Usual stuff and then she asked if I wanted a hernia check. I said "your call" (I didn't want to appear over anxious). She said it was advised. So I smiled and dropped my shorts. She took her time checking for a hernia and "checked out the boys". MOF, the "major" was starting to stand at attention just as she finished. She did not have anyone "witness" the check. I passed the physical with no problems. So I am good for another two (2) years. Leslie mentioned a "new girl" is starting in a few weeks. I may have to go back for a retest. $104 with urine test. Life is good!
  2. Ernie, Wishing your son the best in his upcoming surgery. I will say a prayer for him and his family.
  3. A friend emailed me this article. Don't get me started on the media and "race card"!
  4. It finally reopened recently. Do you think FHOF had anything to do with the reopening?
  5. Agreed, ULSD can have a "greenish" tint to it but it is still "clear".
  6. It is my understanding that DOT will take a sample and have it analyzed (if they see "dark" fuel).
  7. Caterpillar had at least two (2) on-highway tractors in the early 70s. They along with John Deere also experimented with gas turbines in off-highway equipment. CAT had a dedicated "turbine R&D building" at the Techical Center in Mossville.
  8. Caterpillar tested a few gas turbine powered on-highway trucks.
  9. Water white is the term used by fuel refiners (same as clear). Most on-highway ULSD is almost clear (pale yellow). Green or red fuel signifies "off-highway" "non-taxed" fuel.
  10. Too bad it isn't green. Be sure to view the two (2) videos. Enjoy! http://www.autoblog.com/2013/07/17/honda-mean-mower-hits-60-mph-in-4-seconds-cuts-to-130-mph-w-vi/
  11. Used oil or ATF is considered a NO NO. If you get stopped by the DOT and your fuel is not "water white" or "light straw" you are in for a long day.
  12. Sorry to hear about your dad. My condolences.
  13. Stanadyne Performance Formula fuel additive - I add it to all my Diesel fueled engines. Stanadyne products are hard to find. I buy mine from an online provider. Power Service is a good second source and is easily found at places like Wally World.
  14. I agree with 84SD, a 5" stack would mellow the exhaust. I am going to try a 5" straight pipe next time. Flapper is okay for the "ting ting ting" at idle but like the curved outlet better but no "bull horn".
  15. I have A/C and heat in my sheds, barn, and workshop at the farm....heat in the summer and a/c in the winter.
  16. Sorry to hear of your trials. I can understand all the BS you are experiencing. Good luck in your search for a "new career" and your decision.
  17. Like the name...Deere Mack...a great combination.
  18. I have not paid attention to this case. Guilty or not, there is no need to riot just because a person is found not guilty. Do you go with the decision from a court of law or court of the people?
  19. I preferred to work in the barn stacking the hay. Then I could drive the tractor and baler while my brother stacked the hay on the wagon.
  20. Too bad about the accident. Thanks for the "tiller" explanation. I don't think I could be a tiller man. It is all I can do to walk and smoke a cigar.
  21. Congrats and thanks for posting the pics.
  22. Very nice!!!!
  23. You must have been a "city boy". We never had a shower so we "showered with the garden hose" to get off the hay crap and sweat.
