  5. This is the show report with pics...Saturday was cloudy with some rain. Sunday started with rain but the sky cleared around 10a and was a beautiful day for a show. I took pics of all the vehicles on display both days (I don't think I missed any vehicles). I met and talked to many nice people at the show. I even coughed up $5 and joined the Keystone Chapter. Link to photos http://s1305.photobucket.com/user/pafarmer52/library/#/user/pafarmer52/library/2013%2007%20Keystone%20ATCA?sort=4&page=0&_suid=137505413123102892619034667071 I met two (2) BMT members, Tom "2324abmackaltoona" and Chris "oldog". Chris left it slip he is related to another BMT member named Doug Maney. BTW, Tom is the one in the red shirt and Chris is the TALL one. Tom is the owner of the 1923 Mack AB and Chris owns the 1947 Hudson Big Boy. Of course the bald headed old man is yours truly. I appologize if I missed other BMT members in attendence. I told Tom and Chris to not "be a stranger" to BMT and join in the fun.
  6. There is a reason why you are still on this earth. Enjoy your vacation.
  7. email the auctioneer and they will usually let you know the selling price.
  8. Gave my MH a sponge bath this morning (actually 409 and paper towels). Tim/Ben...you guys need to blast over to Lakemont with your IH and make some noise.
  9. Calling Tim and Ben, Your names are on this one.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Hmmm, never heard of a Zette...whatever. BMT is a wealth of knowledge (most of it is informative, some entertaining, and some worthless).
  12. Are you talking about General Motors or Government Motors?
  13. Nice array of pics. Thanks! I am guessing the loader is a Michigan.
  14. Thanks for the info. Steam power has always intrigued me...locos, tractors, and stationary. I don't mean to hijack this thread but the Altoona Railroaders Museum is restoring a PRR loco K-45 #1361 that was manufactured at the Juniata (pronounted as june...iata) Shops. The loco used to sit at the Horseshoe Curve. Restoration is to be completed this year (been delayed many times). I can't wait to see and hear it in operation. If anyone is in the Altoona area, plan to visit the museum and Horseshoe Curve. http://www.railroadcity.com/
  15. I think they copied that idea from Dodge Ram.
  16. Vinny, How about a video of a startup with the bucket on the stack. I want to see how high it blows.
  17. I did not take it as an insult. I was just stating the "good old days" of "dreaming" are gone. You are right....shitholders. Oh, and let's not forget the EPA and the government/regs.
  18. Being a retired engineer it is my humble opinion the days of "dreaming" are gone. If a project does not have a "payback" or "commercial viability" it does not get worked on. If "management" does not approve a project, it gets put in the dumper. At most companies, there was a "skunk works" to do "what if" stuff. Now it is all about pleasing the "stakeholders/investors".
  19. Yep, saw the same thing today on my MH.
  20. Reasons 1-10 - You should get facebook if you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE TO DO!
  21. Make sure you get the cereal number.
  22. Anyone planning to attend this show? The forecast is "isolated thunderstorms" on Saturday and "scattered thunderstorms" on Sunday. Temps both days in the upper 70s. The show grounds is grass and has a few wet spots. I plan to be there most of the day on Saturday (family picnic at 1p) and most of Sunday. Mrs. Farmer will be in attendence for a few hours on Saturday morning (that should draw a crowd). Hope to see some BMT members attend. BMT photo at noon Saturday.
  23. Welcome! Vinny is the resident U model extraordinaire.
