  1. I don't get that hydraulic cylinder repair at all, what is burning oily rags underneath it supposed to do? And there at the end they realize it cannot be straightened and the video conveniently cuts away. While the head gasket and casting videos show some real skill I think most of these videos are just view farming to entertain kids with low attention spans.
  2. In my mind it's for both redundancy and power. On airplanes you check right and left mag before you takeoff, you feel a big difference in power when you cut one set off and it drops about 50 rpm.
  3. if only I didn't live too far from everything... That things nearing scrap price!
  4. Oops forgot pictures:
  5. https://www.bigiron.com/Lots/1966MackC95FSAFireTruck It's a nice truck but it has a premium so it probably won't sell, firetrucks never usually bring much in farm auctions. Curiously it has Thermodyne badges but it has a gas engine, I thought Theromodyne was only applied to the diesels.
  6. It's such a shame to see. Stuff like this comes straight out of the pit...
  7. Shoot my Trail 70s all I need in a daily, at least for checking cows and going to the hardware store. Plus $1.50 in gas per week!
  8. I've got a pdf manual for the E9 I can send you if that's what you're looking for. I will have to split it up into at least 4 parts to send it though Just PM me if you need it
  9. Lots of time and talent to make those old books but man they are captivating. All the kids stuff now is made by AI so we will never see illustrations like that again! My favorite book as a kid was probably Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel as well as go dog go. They say whatever art style you read/watched at a kid is how your imagination and dreams work as an adult, I feel bad for the kids today.
  10. Those Brits had some crazy engines in there day, that Napier engine and the Mack v8 combined into one rig must have been a sound! DeLaval made lots of dairy equipment as well, not sure if they are still around.
  11. Helicopter could just fly above it and the prop wash should be able to knock it down
  12. I've started to see them around here but they are spray drones, huge things but I'd like to use one for house work. Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs Guy) shot a drone that was spying on him 10 years ago or so. How are we to know if they are spy drones or heck even a bomb on em
  13. Oh and don't shoot at them!
  14. I didn't see anything about it either except in the newspaper. This day will live in infamy and I hope it will never be forgotten
  15. Another thing to check before starting is try to take what's left of the exhaust pipe so you can spin the turbo with your hands. Make sure it spins freely and clean out any critter crap that may have gotten in there, look over the intake good and make sure nothing got in there too. As stated previously take off the turbo oil feel line, oil it up, and you should be good to go.
  16. I was going to say something similar but I remembered the guy looks on here lol. Hard to beat the short wheelbase "look" and if your going to make a Mack look like a Peterbuilt then you've missed the point.
  17. No not this perticular truck. I'm just remembering all that was wrong with our Mh cabover after sitting a few years outside.
  18. Glad you got it out of there! A few more years with those pine needles and there would have been nothing left of that truck. Your brake and throttle pedal might be stuck so I would spray some stuff on those asap.
  19. What a find! I hope he keeps it looking pretty stock. Great explanation of the differences between the different Superliners as well.
  20. They seek to destroy all the beauty that's left in the world. Those old straight 6 motors from Jaguar are some of the most beautiful ever put into an automobile
  21. I've always wondered about the purple people eater engines, seemed like they could have made them work if given a few more years. I can attest the smaller engines they had In combines are great! They had enough power and are very fuel efficient for what they are, seems like they'd make a great pickup motor.
  22. Glad to see everyone had good food! We had turkey and oyster stuffing, the hunting after was awesome too! Tons of quail and even a few pheasants, haven't seen them around here in years.
  23. If you're looking for cool and rare maybe try a Diamond T. I saw this one at an auction the other day, the first one I've ever been around. Wow they look and feel well made! I don't know what It sold for but if I would have stayed I might have "accidentally" bought it
  24. Wow I've never seen something like that! A few ranchers around here use military truck in winter for water haulage but the farmers seem to shy away from them. Probably not going to haul very much very fast with an LTL or B series but they would still look cool. The 60s International grain trucks have the best sealed cab (from dust at least) in my experience. Good luck!
