You will need to remove the passenger seat, then you can pull the floor pan . The bolts are 13 mm metric, and theres about 12 of them. Pull the floor mat back at the edges to see the bolts. The throttle pedal will come with that floor panel. It can stay mounted, just disconnect the linkage or wire harness, not sure what you have for an injection pump. -

when you had the shifter out, did the slots for the shifter pawl look rounded out as well as the pawl ? It can get stuck in gear or even put it in 2 gears at once. If there is too much wear. Going back to what trans it is.. its a T-2090.. -

Have you confirmed that the throttle lever is not wide open? Im not smart about injection pump internals. It does sound like a stuck rack though. Have you checked the connection of the duetch plug at the inj. Pump ? Make sure none of the wires are loose and able to be pulled out of the sockets from the back sides. I have made many repairs to those plugs for loose connections. Make sure it is secured in its yoke when you finish.

I get it. I am not able to dedicate labor to do repairs because i have a full time job. But I am totaly willing to help you, and show you what i do on the side in my shop. If you decide to ride over here, give me a weeks notice so I can be here. You are welcomed to bring the truck, or just your 4 wheeler. Bring a camera so you can take pictures of my tools and pages in the books i have.. Its impressive..

ok, I looked, you are west of Asheville. so maybe 2 1/2 hours from me. If you are ever driving by here on a weekend, you are welcomed to stop in at my shop and look at what I have and I can guide you on how to work on the engine.

With respect... Asking how to do valve seals, and my knowing that valve train very well. If you dont know how to do seals on this Mack, you really need to get the book and read it. Mack valve train is adjusted quite differently then Cat or John Deere for example, and if you make a mistake on yours, you risk cracking a lifter roller.. What say you ??

I DONT. get the impression that this is alarming to you, more of an observation. One if my customers has an '04 Granite that does the same thing once in a while. I would lean towards valve seals. Of course a compression test would be good to see if you have a weak cylinder. Are you doing the work or a hired mechanic?

Roll rod and main bearings, inspect the inside if the oil pump for large scratches, if so, replace it.

Low oil pressure? How low ? 1.5 million, not rebuilt? Many tests to do... Fuel pressure, compression test, proper valve adjustment, cylinder cut out test, .. could it just be tired ?

I think i see engine brake spacers, so its pre-ASET. The picture is blurry. I too ask if the valve adjustment is correct. Can you put a volt meter on the plug on the wire for the front head and see if it is getting 13.8-14.3 volts when you rev it up then activate the engine brakes ?
