  1. sure glad people like yourself are out there bringing old people like myself up to date. I forgot about the no injection pump/ mechanical pedal linkage. still don't see a need for lower then 850 jake. around here all you hear are the big pete/kw triaxles using the jake for shifting/making noise then actual slow down. like the 4 wheel tin cans with the ying ying mufflers.
  2. starting now 10:30 winter associates Plainville CT . large lots of truck/auto related literature. I'm outbid on two Mack lots.
  3. my question is ;; why would you want the jake on lower then 850 eng RPM's ?? stall time ??
  4. old school jakes (I installed many) weren't wired into a computer as today's iron. I'd bet you can't; unless some one chimes in with more knowledge of the computer system : definitely not me.
  5. how lucky YOU are. second time around I got the full 4 course/ cloth napkins / sterling silver expectation one ::: Darn! as the saying goes "you don't know what you got till it's gone " . #1 was the burger and fries lady. and beautiful .
  6. and don't forget :: being a little on the "trashy side "means they are content with a good burger and fries :::don't need a full four course meal with cloth napkins and fine china, so I've heard LOL
  7. is that comment based on experience !! OR just passing on rumors heard !!!!😱🤣🤣
  8. my two number 4's arrived today. figured by now taking all 4 side by side it would be easy to say " I like this one better than that one "NOT HAPPENING . 1's as good as 2 -2 as good as 1/3/4 . excellent start of hope to be large collection. #5 ???? THANKS
  9. not good to have a dried out roll between the sheets!!!🤣🤣
  10. count my vote as a yes to Susanna also . '60's/70's weren't to shy about having some beautiful women. not sure is this still on topic ???LOL
  11. why of course you do ; that's one of the signs of a well kept. professional mechanics shop.
  12. not only was gasket paper common back then : it came in different thickness. had the hole punch set and good sharp knife .
  13. didn't think gasket paper was even available anymore ! thought new generation only had gaskets from a silicone tube, 😀nice job on the new ones.
  14. You have my "vote" for the kielbasa and eggs -I missed that food intake !! My hats off to You Sir for Your accomplishments. wife number 2 doesn't understand how a foul marriage entices the urge to alcohol intake.
  15. working slow indicates a great desire to be accurate in ALL aspects of the quality job being done. ;;Sir,
  16. question for me !!! how far did the lawn run 🤣. couldn't help it.
  17. issue with the beer for me is the weight gain. last week or so for me attempting to meet a weight number before this up coming appointment ; NO beer/ eating healthy stuff. DR will kick my ass if I'm over weight. last saw him I was 200lbs (6ft) . today scaled in at 183.4
  18. when draining the oil/ use a kitchen strainer under plug .strainer usually will catch lifter particles. when Mack went to oversized pans ; what a pain -in =ass . helps to make sure pan HAS to be removed. and we all know oil warm when draining helps.
  19. Don't ever loose the appreciation of a loving wife which supports You and stands by you ;Sir . You are among a shrinking group. hopefully You and co= worker (wife) enjoyed Your "stay-cation.😀
  20. fortunately I found one of the cardboard stoppers my Grandfather used on his milk bottles having His name on it,, tried in '78 after I bought the Grandparents farm(what was left of it) to keep it going.
  21. My grandfather delivered milk from his farm by horse and wagon to local towns for years. remember walking into barn (as a youngster ) and being shot in the face by milk straight from the cow He was milking. days todays generation will never understand OR could appreciate. IF we could only go back to such a simpler /positive/ Family environment.
  22. My hats off to you Sir;; that's courage at it's maximum. alcohol unfortunately has become a big part of my life. between bodily pain and other issues. this is from someone who NEVER drank till after 30.. have been doing a shot of jagermeister regularly. was told yrs ago "a shot a day helps internal stomach issues."
  23. it's that small word "IF small word means so much. WE ALL HAVE IF IN OUR LIVES ;; DON'T WE !!
  24. that I remember'' the oil filter radio can't say same.
  25. anyone check to see if engine had oil i it. engine seized ?? a diesel will not just shut down without cause, thanks JoJo , checking for air leaks with engine running ?? normally a mechanic will put shop air to system so as to listen for leaks . hope this shop is reputable / not looking for a customer screwing.
