  1. not to be a bearer of bad news, more to let you know your post is being read : BUT there was a duplex 10 speed / alum rear half at the farm in CT I help out at. went looking for it yesterday for numbers etc== it's gone ' they buried it when fill was brought in or it went to scrap yard with other stuff. the rear end from the Mack still there .
  2. for $600.oo I would take the 4 bolts off the top . remove the alum plunger inside try for a rebuild kit which is nothing more than a 1/8th (+-) in square o=ring that goes on the plunger. a number of situation will give that valve air leak.
  3. the highway definite cause for high BP; having to deal with highway driving now due to new residence; the booze intake has increased.
  4. color scheme might also depend on the use of the truck ;every day runner or parade /toy truck. and don't forget how many $$$ being spent. two tone with pinstriping daily driver going through rain snow/ dust ?
  5. not sure about the carpenter hammer being in the picture ; guess it's safe to say , when it comes to the steering box project :: you nailed it .LOL
  6. where did Mutrie tankers run ? east/west coast ? can't picture them east coast. having mental block of the tanker fleet on east = they were two tone green possibly from jersey ?? , seems there was also fleet use to be a beige/ marron tankers ,
  7. all good things take time. don't take tooo long though; think you might have competition for who's done first== your DM or the new arrival ==U 600T. LOL
  8. I see where you listed the bay state show . a tad closer to CT also. in past has this been a descent show ? in the Baskin delivery days . one stop I had was in N, Attleboro.
  9. be interesting to know actual model ; U -???? T. rear hubs 6 spoke not 5 ? dry air cleaner . profile shows R-487p. R model small diesel ?
  10. If/when you pull center cable out ;up on reinstall you may have to remove cable from drive end verifying inner cable went into the drive adapter and not along side it. should inner not want to fully seat;;; bypassing adapter possibly the issue.
  11. But they are not all criminal repeat offenders::: they just don't like the 40 hr work week.
  12. Bethlehem show came and went ; Barrington NH show over with ; not aware of any others then those listed on front page,
  13. until

any one make the Barrington show this week end ?? great intentions of leaving CT early Saturday and do an over night . back to CT Sunday . didn't happen. 3 hr drive each way .
  14. with all the cable parts being new ; I'd go with the tach it self the issue. when cable disconnected spin the tach it self by hand. the brass outer end will move the gauge . if easy access completely remove gauge to check. for a tach to do a complete spin around will take some .
  15. is the adapter a new or old one, old one may be rounded out inside cable end. new inside cable should have a crimped square fitting on it at tach end? easy check would be take cable off tach end ; start engine see if inner cable spinning. if so safely hold the inner cable slightly, can't hold to a stop == everything ok to that point. square input end in tach itself may be rounded instead of square. catches enough to move gauge ;not square enough to give accurate movement.
  16. and don't forget updates are ALWAYS APPRECIATED . we all like expanding OUR knowledge ;;;young and OLD.
  17. gets worse as old age closes in !!🤣
  18. reason I was asking if it's a part still available. thanks for reply. the owner (good person ) can investigate ;I'm a no charge just helping him out. mentally it's my therapy also.
  19. haven't taken it apart yet, it's real worn. not even check valves looked at yet . to get fuel to system the primer spilled more fuel then pumped.
  20. USUALLY the 24'S WILL (would ) bolt up directly. main issue Use to be the position of the 24 band clamp. the 24's HAD a two bolt clamp; with today's cheaper manufacturing there may only be one bolt. Mack roto's had a felt wiper and o=ring inside. replacing to 24's easy ?? either install the 24 on axle and using slack , back off the slack to compress inside spring. large C-clamp to hold canister together ;main purpose not to disturb the diaphragm. rotate the clamp horizontal to vertical basically. or what ever position gives clearance.
  21. not a screwup;;just an over taxed brain cells doing their best.
  22. sadly your also afraid to let your children leave the house today with the sicko's out there.
  23. Is the hand primer for the 400 still available; this one is worn/sloppy. don't recall ever rebuilding the old style on 673's. haven't contacted Mack yet since the answer will be :: need vin numbers etc.
  24. the effects old age is spread to all of us. heard interesting statement last trip to DR; " the heart surgeon that did your procedure doesn't do surgeries any more " well that's good to know. heck of a note to be on the table all sewed up and he doesn't remember if all the parts are in there!!!😁
  25. excellent process. even with a double take on project. I find myself having doubt later. simple things as lock the door or did I shut the lights ;will become mentally questioned.
