  1. wait till you get old the biggest challenge is having high hopes of :: the stem hitting the target before you both fall a sleep!! LOL
  2. now remember the two minute job project is for REMOVAL .tumbler '' not including door panel install having key to put in tumbler is 3 minutes. LOL . total remove/ install door panel is ??? . can be total turn around time (not including repairs ) 10-- ?? minutes.
  3. part 2 - knew I forgot some thing earlier post. IF door has the key tumbler still intact ' with the key in lock (helps hold tumbler - not needed ) with a pair of needle nose pliers on inner door next to door latch remove thin tumbler locker. has a bend to keep it in place, push toward outer shell then pull out of door. sounds technical = it's not . thin locker will pull out 3/4 way out =remove tumbler . simple two minute job.
  4. all outer philips head boats removed . IMPORTANT == the 3 = three screws 0n door latch removed ; leave the door handle/ window crank attached for panel removal. a slight shimmy/ shake panel will drop down low enough to remove assembly.
  5. for years American people actually thought their votes put someone in the white house ! now with this electronic vote crap ; it's way easier for the power hungry people to make numbers in their favor. If they put donald back in PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to the VP; that's who will be running the country when they "take donald out. news is showing the professional border crossers. sorry kids !😢🎖️😢.only the thoughts of a senile old man saddened thinking of the many soldiers and service people that gave their lives to defend us.
  6. these days , I don't want to drive my jeep on ct roads. have to wonder how/ why it seemed to be "adventurous taking a 45 ft trailer through all 5 boroughs of NY! younger I guess. or the summer time sights made the trips a lot more enjoyable. won't go there and chance another off topic.
  7. not defending the puppet; but he's doing what is being told. it's more the "behind the scenes" idiots (past presidents ) with a power control ego ruining this country. news this am had sad story of whistle blower from boeing "committed suicide "; really ?? Mexican cartel stronger then police according to news. what about the US cartel running this country in to the ground.
  8. Its so darn sad the puppets they PUT in that office are dumber than snot. over joyed friend just told my wife yesterday her daughter/ son-in - law expecting twins. I tried to show positive face. this country is doomed =sorry future generations.
  9. David Bradley is the tractor that started my collection. of the 50-60 walk behinds I HAD ' 20 + were bradleys. had an early '46 mint condition. still favored the standard twins/ Vikings. two cyl with hi -lo transmission. newest unit I had was a '49 standard twin .
  10. ok a NYC city bus == 2 speed auto could be practical; don't see many going fast between bus stops and traffic lights. having been SO fortunate to have made many deliveries (a while back= ) having 45 ft and 32 ft trailers . never got unit up to speed. unless on occasion I could time the lights. 10/ 13 speed transmissions rarely saw high range DURING deliveries. NOW leaving city a totally different story. LOL
  11. I could see a motorcycle or Honda having a two speed auto; still have to wonder about a firetruck needing to go fast on up/down hill terrain == and with 350 hp powering the 2speed.
  12. depending on location. certain areas of the hood will benefit if using good grade plywood type which can be left in the fiberglass mold. hood latches, hinge mounting bolt area. little bit of engineering , area of latches having the wood , you can drill and install proper size nutserts into the wood replacing the broken bolts from disassembly .if using plastic jugs/ bottles for forming definitely scrub/ wash any oil residue from plastic first.
  13. now that's a combo to really give thought to. 864 V8 hooked to a TWO speed auto.! what would constitute a two speed === fast // slow ?? not powered by 6 cyl but a V8 !! that two speed shifted it must have been a heck of kick.
  14. 1- does the pump have a breather cab weight is pushing oil back too fast with clogged breather ?? 2- pump pushes cab up to center point and cab will tilt fully over with its own weight ?? thinking of older F-models .. 3- cab fully tilts forward and pump brings it back to center with weight bringing cab back to drive mode ?? opposite of raising cab.. 4- even if not a specific cab pump , should still pump if it's a two way pump.
  15. this is another question stirring up the brain cells. time at Mack '69-'75 ; don't think any were sold with autos. even the two fire trucks sold were standards. one MB other R model. two trash trucks were both standards =one DM roll off other Diamond reo packer. can't remember any autos being worked on . not saying Mack didn't have them offered . Mack front discharge mixers didn't seem to sell to good on east coast = they were autos. one style Mack I never drove or sat in.
  16. now there are a couple of interesting vehicles for resto. older cousins to the B-81 and DM800
  17. more "holding power "must have also increased the noise level . have noticed a lot lately of the "big rigs " =the wanta be truckers having dark windows 90% covered by visors at least 8 in or more stacks running the jake for no reason except the noise . LOL I was happy with the little putt putt noise my Hino made with exhaust brake which did have hold back power.
  18. thank you for brief updated explanation. it's more then just a line to oil pad. high output pump and more direct oil to jake ; makes sense it would add a tad bit more holding power to jake. course back in '69 when I installed my first jake (R611T) remember only due to I worked part-time for the company years later , don't think world was so high tech Savey.
  19. with the arrival of a second coin hopefully that indicates coin #1 was a success .. I also will put in for at least 2.
  20. how ?? tapping into the filter housing , would not that take away oil pressure to mid section of oil ports ?? not like putting a gauge or test equipment in oil housing port which would maintain full pressure ;; during jake operation oil flows through jake units . oil to the rockers is continuous flow but that is at the tail end of oil system. tapping housing seems it would lower pressure to components. or I'm just tooo old for modern thinking.
  21. each coin is a representation of Mack ;; of course it's an astonishing work of art .
  22. saw the same thing when Mack was bought out by another dealership. old timers that had volumes of knowledge in their brain cells couldn't keep up or deal with the computer systems that came in. two mechanics and a parts guy quit . I learned sooo much from these people.
  23. opinion only ; the hino line may be in the dark ages for parts . as a privately owned = not a fleet truck , I had a '93 FA hino which I bought C&C brand new to replace a tired /worn '77 F-350flat bed. did serious studies checking ford 350/ GMC /UD / and others. dual wheel ford with box between cab and flat bed dump was so long it needed 16 acres to turn. company I worked for had a fleet of them. the FA with large "toolbox" ( I could/did climb in to sleep) behind cab in front of flatbed dump and exhaust brake could /did spin in tight circle. it worked well for me .owned it from '93 to 2011.
  24. sorry I have to ask !!WHY does a turbo have coolant going through it . ?? another topic shows how old and far behind I am. need to find a Mack fleet close buy to catch up on things.
  25. the old Mack system worked much better many times due to the number/ cross reference area was stored in the parts mans head. wouldn't /couldn't count times a customer walked in , only had to say "doin brakes on the Mack"= only thing part man said was " same grade block ?" answer was yes; he went back to shelf brought out a box of brake block and 3/8 brass bolts. NO vin number/ serial number (and list goes on ). then things got so screwed up the parts depended on THE MONTH the truck was manufactured NOT just yr / vin and bul-sh-t. like frank Sinatra sings "OH THE GOOD LIFE " sorry frank it's gone.
