  1. Do they still use Mack's in coal country? Probably almost no tractors.
  2. To bad they killed off that nice B61 in maximum overdrive.
  3. Congratulations to Cummins. Nice to see the X15's lined up to go into the new Mack Superliner
  4. Euro cab overs look pretty decent head on but that side view downward slope to the front is just plain ugly.
  5. Definitely CF green from that time. Too bad the CF logo was missing. I don' t think the 673 205 hp would have held up as this was before the piston oil cooling and other 673 turbo improvements.
  6. What will Ford be using in Nascar going forward? The only thing left will be the mustang.
  7. I wonder if the Pete and Acar trashers ride like a bucking bronco on the highway.
  8. Move over Mack or get run over by Western Star.
  9. I wonder what the specs are on that granite tractor with the lowboy.
  10. Who are the cab makers that are still in business? TCM, Mayflower?
  11. That picture is a PA produced Mack. If they were evaluating the western F's they may have not followed through because of poor build quality in Hayward (as Mr. Karbel stated about the early Cruiseliners from Hayward). Also if they were evaluating the eastern F models, they may have been to heavy. Since CF was a coast to coast carrier the maxidynes of that era may not have worked well in the western mountains. Then again Detroits and Cummins were offered in the F's of that time. Price and delivery times may have been an issue also. More insight is needed.
  12. I saw a picture on facebook which really floored me. It was a Consolidated Freightways Mack F model 50 in BBC. The caption stated that it probably was from a company that they bought out. It was done up in the later year white paint scheme with the red and green stripes. I wonder what company that might have been from. The only Mack's I ever saw for CF were the CH's from the 90's. I would think that would be a collectable photo.
  13. How did the Cummins compare to the Maxidyne as far as torque. 907 for the Maxidyne
  14. Sounds like a bunch of geese in the cab.
  15. Seems like they could revive this on the MB chassis.
  16. Nothing wrong with a little competition for the big boys and their cookie cutter trucks
  17. Not to pretty but lots of torque.
  18. Same with Connecticut construction trucks. Seems they have gone to sleep.I am sure they are still there somewhere.
  19. bigrig: Dramis still lists Mack and IH on their website along with KW and Western Star
  20. Makes you wonder why Mack doesn't promote the MR into more areas such as mixers dumps etc.
