  1. Conventional or CO? I remember reading on this sight somewhere that a new Mack truck was comming with a Cummins engine.
  2. DT-466 with wheels and an orange crate & umbrella for the driver. Should be pretty light weight.
  3. I guess you can only say that great minds think alike.
  4. That 205 was a sweet sounding engine very smooth with good turbo whine.
  5. Lmack I grew up in Illinois 50's and 60's. I lived near the Meyer yard in Wheeling. At that time they had about five or six B-63 turbo,d 205's for dump truck tractors. Real sweet sounding engines. The mixwes at that time were all R model IH gasers and FWD diesels. Celli B model mack dumps were all over the place building the Interstates. I left Illinois before the Celli R models. Also alot of Bongi and palumbo B models around then. Funny thing I noticed when I was a youngan all of the Dump truck operators seemed to be Italian in origin. When I moved out east it was also the same situation. You might say the Italians helped keep Mack alive.
  6. I believe you guys have throughly kicked my but on the Cummins issue. My concern was for Mack to be more competetive since so many companies are set up for Cummins as far as training and parts. Have a good one.
  7. All of the US truck manufacturers except Daimler and Mack offer Cummins Diesel engines. Why not Mack? Get your head out of your backside volvo.
  8. Bring the Superliner, Trident and mid range over from Austailia. Keep the Granite. New cab for MR and LE. Put the Trident hood on the CH axle forward. Keep the pinnacle axle back. Offer Cummins engines across the board. Simplify and bullet proof the electronics. Keep the Mack transmissions, axles and suspensions. Get as versatille as Paccar, Navistar and shaker.
  9. If that Australian rumor is true the question of is volvo good or bad for Mack would be answered. Lets hope it is a rumor.
  10. I thought when v@@@@ bought Mack they cut ties with Dana. maybee it was just the rear ends
  11. Back in the 50's and 60's I believe Mack frames were made by a company called parrish. Who made them after that and who makes them now. Also who made the L B H G and R cabs. I believe mayflower makes the CH. Not really important in the grand scheme of things but one of those nice to know historical things.
  12. Don't forget if the oil is milky colored shut her down.
  13. Best wishes. Family before Mack any day. God bless.
  14. I think if they put the Australian Trident or Superliner hood on the Titan it would be a better looking vehicle. I like the comment about PACAAR taking an afternoon to solve the sleeper option. V#@9o could do it in an afternoon also if they wanted to.

  16. Great site. I especialy like those Brockway cut/spec sheets. It would be nice if Mack Autocar White and IH had a web site that supplied thesr spec sheets.
  17. Wanker? That sounds bad mate. Is that similar to Europeon(Volvo)!@#$%^&!
  18. Bring the Superliner and Trident over here. Drop the CH.
  19. I wonder what units will be retired? CH's, Sterlings, Visions Cornbinders or a mix.
  20. My first reaction was there is no such thing as a cool pete. But seeing that it has mack legs I guess it's cool. Maybee that triple frame is Macks (Dana) also. Looking forward to the mack pictures.
  21. Are they still building Detroit 2 cycles? I thought they were long gone.
