  1. Welcome to BMT @Gunny65! Looking forward to seeing more photos. Might be worth a bit of research on the working limits of current rotating dumps. Pretty sure most on rail have some sort of system that anchors the truck to the rail when dumping, but I could be off base here. You may even find that the swivel/hoist/bed manufacturer is still around as a resource.
  2. Interesting to see that the Cat didn’t get the standard department colors @NycHeavyIron. Thank you for sharing these “behind the fences” photos. 😊
  3. Glad to hear that you had a great trip @mowerman! I managed to make a brief visit to the museum back in 2021, but haven’t made it back yet. Someday I hope to make it up for the show weekend. Hope that you’ve found smooth roads back a work. 🙂
  4. If you’d like a good sample of the sights at the Brockway Show check out @DailyDiesel’s videos at: http://dailydieseldose.com/brockway-national-truck-show-again-and-again/
  5. You must have nerves of steel @mowerman! I don’t have my CDL, but have been a lifelong fan of the brand and the industry. I’ve had the opportunity to ride along with my good friend @Firemack in his MH and have tremendous respect for all of you that keep America moving. Please keep the updates and photos coming as I have to live vicariously through all of you!
  6. @mowerman are you pulling triples at the day job? That has got to be an adventure! Your DM looks like a great place to start. Looking forward to seeing what you do with her.
  7. Saw an interesting series that a YouTuber I follow did on a tractor restoration. His commitment to himself was to do “something” on the project every day. Some days were full days in the shop, others were 5 minutes on line ordering a part. I think he ended up with 130 days or so to get it done. I’m not saying this is practical with a project the size of a DM, but you could take the approach of doing something on the hood every day as a starting point… How about sharing a few photos of the entire truck and what you have planned?
  8. So @fjh how’s the new to you old hoe treating you?
  9. Great photos @NycHeavyIron! I’m surprised they don’t have the standard NYC plow hitches on them. Probably would need 3 of them though!
  10. Enjoyed the gallery @other dog! Thank you for posting them all.
  11. @Vladislav to the best of my knowledge the Superdogs and the DM in front of the mixer all belong to members of the DePaul family, a contractor here in the Philadelphia, PA area. They are all beautiful restorations that have been to Macungie and out at Gerhart’s in the past. They may also own the mixer, but Tom’s photo is the first I’ve seen of it. @hicrop10 may know more…
  12. Thank you for the photos @other dog! Wasn’t in the cards for me to make it this year…
  13. The square body looks pretty sharp too @h67st! You do exceptional work!
  14. Good memory/lookup skills @h67st. How’s bought you @Truck Shop still got your BMT ears on? Loved your build thread. DavCut
  15. I’m always impressed at how much seems to move around between visits @Hans Remmers - the U model with the bathtub at least was in a completely different spot - and the line of truck cranes out front was impressive.
  16. I think I might have talked to you @Hans Remmers when you were climbing on the truck Saturday afternoon - either that or someone else was admiring it after you. 😎 I always enjoy walking around the yard and watching the antique equipment being operated at Gerhart Machinery. Just imagine the stories if those old dogs could talk!
  17. Perhaps it’s out of the photo @fjh, but if not I’d highly recommend blocking up the arms and upper jaw of the 4&1 to protect yourself from a sudden drop from a hydraulic failure. Want to ensure that you’re around to post more photos of your adventures with the 580. 😎
  18. Anyone heading to Gerhart Machinery in Litiz, PA for their annual “Digging Days” on Saturday? Not sure how it go to be the first weekend in May already?
  19. How about some photos @fjh? I’d love to have a 530 or 580 of some vintage but I can’t really justify it on my 0.25 acre in town lot… 😎
  20. @Whiskymack has a photo of the brochure in his thread @mowerman If it was a 2023 website advertisement I could see the entire image being a computer creation.
  21. My guess is that the photo was split across 2 pages - similar to the Superliner. Guy model’s shadow shows on the door. That’s pretty tough to do with paste, but I expect Tom could make it happen with his computer skills. 😎
  22. This might be a good one for @Firemack to chime in on as he has recently rebuilt a pump on a similar vintage B….
  23. Welcome to BMT @Paul S. Great story and introduction - especially since you included photos! Looking forward to hearing more about your experience with the truck and your restoration journey. DavCut
  24. Sounds as if it could have been much worse @mdixon! Amazing to hear that there are that many chickens on one farm Glad to read that no one working there was hurt and that your fleet didn’t receive more damage.
