  1. I talked a little with the guy that had that mack with the planetary rears he said they were 70 ton rears wow!!!!
  2. I have seen some wobbly wheels on trucks lazy tire guys. I always used a block of wood next to the tire you can get the tire running really straight. I have a real distaste for the bud wheel lugs. If you watch tire guys how many tighten the hub pilot wheels lugnuts way over tight and not crisscross tightening. How many innertubes have been ruined because the wheel wedges bottomed out on the hub?
  3. I have a etz673 engine that came out of a 1980 mack fire truck. I thought they were using 675 from 66 or 67 on I know the fleet I took care of were early f's and r's all had 675 engines.
  4. My cousin and I were setting on the bed of my truck at Gerhart's on sat. and a young fellow walks up and says this truck use to belong to his dad and says he's going to get his dad to talk with us. Joe had the truck almost 40 years ago he used it as a gas dump truck then he put the red cab and 673 and trans and the rear on the old frame and used it for a yard truck then the father and son started to restore the truck and named the truck after Joes wife May. He sold it to a friend and later it ended up at Jerry Peters truck company were I purchased said truck. What are the odds of that connection? Kind of made my day. I figured it was a Johnny Cash special now I have proof.

  5. My b cab is rather cramped but it is really bad for my cousin who weighs over 300 lbs. Same thing with my 31 model a coup very tight fit for the driver and passenger. I remember the older peterbuilt conventional had a fairly small cab.
  6. First they played our national anthem then they played Canada's national anthem thought that was a nice touch.
  7. Well I guess my truck made the photo shoot but I got in between two beauty's so it made mine look fairly shabby.
  8. My lights were crap and I spent some time researching the lights different places sell for my b model and got on the grotte site and found the same lights for a lot less money they look close enough for me I'm probably somewhat less fussy about oem parts on my truck but the new lights looked like the ones that was on the truck.
  9. I remember watching that Ingersoll engine running at a hit and miss engine show years ago it looked a lot better back then. When the guy run the rpm up just off idle it made that trailer move pretty good. Did you get to see it run? Thanks for the photos very nice.
  10. The 1674 was the little brother of a 1693 twin cam the ones popel had were 270 hp if i remember right. I bet that engine would almost fit in a b model.
  11. I owned two cabovers and drove others this time in my youth i doubt if i could drag my butt up in the cab and not kill myself getting back out.
  12. There's a guy that owns a trucking company in scranton that has to be the number one trump fan he has a trailer with trump splashed down the sides. When biden showed up in the town that trailer was positioned to send a message to biden.
  13. We got rid of the booms and I welded the mounts on the triaxles and we used moffetts and princeton telladyne units. I liked the irish moffetts the best. I made shure they were powered by kubota engines never had any issues with those power plants.
  14. I took care of a fleet of Hiab 2 ton traveling base cranes way better than the old block booms we had before. We tried tico's and another brand but we felt the Hiab's were the brand for us.
  15. It was our yard tractor and every sat i had to drain the crankcase out about 20 gallons of fuel i finally talked the owner into letting me get the injectors repaired all six were shot. They caught the truck cab on fire and i wabbed up the wiring to make it go again. Then they ran the loader into the radiator and tore the hood right off and kept putting water in the engine never told me it froze the first cold night finished the radiator it sat till a warmer day so the water pump unfroze i got a good radiator on it, and then they ripped the clutch up and you couldn't release the clutch it ended up with just low gear and reverse. I had to back the truck up a pretty steep hill from a stop to get a trailer up to my repair garage the truck had one working brake. When people speak about tough trucks that mack earned my respect. I have never seen a truck try to keep going with so many idiot's trying to destroy the truck. O i forgot they ripped the drivers door off the truck right before i left.
  16. I just run across an add for Mack days at Gerharts as it stands they will be holding the show. Now that is some good news amid all the doom and gloom we have lived with these past months. The add was on a site on facebook.
  17. I don't know about that but I had my exhaust manifold on my model a coupe ceramic coated and it hasn't changed looks wise and the guy coated the inside said it would help the exhaust flow better?? it's a 40 hp. engine in it's best days.
  18. Did you drop the round cover on the oil pan it gets loaded up with sludge?
  19. What year is your T? I motor around in a 31 coupe
  20. There is a company that specializes in just pipes and they have trailers like that I see them on rt118 all the time.
  21. I am on the second f 150 first was v-8 6 speed 3-73 rear my 2018 is a v-8 10 speed locking rear 3-73 heated seats and a lot of other stuff I don't use. The newer truck gets about 2-3 miles a gallon more than the older one. I wanted the extra cab so I ended up with short beds but if I have anything longer I use my trailer.
  22. I was on vacation up to Mt. Katahdin camping and we drove up into paper company lands and there is not anyway you could place another log on the trucks that run the golden road. The triaxles had bunkers higher than I see around my area you gave the trucks the right away it was their road.
  23. In the last two fleets I was in charge of I used union 76 15-40 I had real good results.
  24. My teacher at caterpillar engine school had a conniption if you spoke of any oils other than 30 weight in the summer and 10 weight in the winter but that was 40 some years ago.
  25. I don't remember a d-8 scaling that much with a 4 barrel ripper and a ublade now the d-9 was a bit more weight but I loaded a 9 with u blade and 4 barrel ripper on a tandem autocar with a two axle trailer .I don't remember anymore but the outfit was pretty big around wilkes barre and up tword the Scranton area. Kamminsky would haul anything that would fit on the trailer, Pegnotti had a hellof a mack to drag around real heavy dragline buckets and large shovel parts. If I remember from working at cleveland bros. the 8's didn't get to 50 ton even filled up coming in from a stripping pit but that was in the 70's so i may be off a little. . I worked around the anthracite king and the 90 yard marion walking shovel in Hazelton up on the road before the Eckley miners village were they filmed the movie with Sean Connery.
