  1. Right on. Thanks for the info Mike. What's it got for motor and trans? Pretty rare the way they dropped the frame to keep the trailer height normal. I hope you find a good home for it. Hate to see that go to waste.
  2. I have seen that site. I have saved quite a few pics and brochures from there. But thanks for posting. I wish there were more pics or history to be found from the Chatham Ontario Canada plant.

  5. I really like the styling of those and the little Loadstar's. If I had the talent and money I wish I could put one of those old Loadstar bodies on my F550 chassis.

  7. Cool cranes. And great pictures Hurstscrambler! That blue Pinnacle tractor is pretty sharp looking too. Your picture looking down reminds me of something. My father was an iron worker and he was one of the ones that worked on the CN Tower with no safety harnesses back in the day. And built the super stacks at the mines in Sudbury. I couldn't follow in those footsteps. I didn't inherit the gene of being fearless of heights, LOL Good thing I fell in love with trucks the minute I was born, LOL I remember helping him build a couple mini-malls in town when I was young. They were only single ot 2 story. That was enough of that for me, LOL
  8. Welcome Shaggy. Are you just looking for what you need to know for your inspection/air brake endorsement stuff? Don't have any diagrams, but I'm sure we can point out the items to you that the testers and inspectors want you to know.
  9. The steel mill in the town nearest me caught someone that tested positive going through the gate. An outside contractor. The detectors at the security gate actually picked up his fever. And a mine north of me that my friend works at (and the one I was going to quit trucking and go work for) just started calling guys back to work a couple weeks ago and sure enough....now they found someone with corona working there. I already have asthma and lung problems. I'm staying home!! LOL

Good way to disguise your Chrysler testing anyway.....use a Ford, LOL Beau Boeckmann bought the car at auction for $225,000 or something like that, with no motor in it. But they found the motor. I also didn't know Gale Banks was friends with Carroll Shelby and he is the one that did the turbo work on this car. Pretty interesting history.
  13. Anyone see this show called Driven on tv? I'm watching it right now. The Ford Pantera Carroll Shelby used when he was at Chrysler, to develop the Viper. Lee Iaccoca gave him a Chrysler 360 nascar engine and they put twin turbo's on it.

  15. No Snowdog. I have been by that mill because I used to work for Fowler's for a few years with my dump truck. But when I hauled wood I pulled walking floor and did bark, logs, slabs and hog fuel between the Sault and Thunder Bay, Chapleau, Sudbury and as far south as Alban, Noelville and Monetville. And chips and shavings I hauled from all over Michigan to the Sault.
  16. Oh ok. I only have Kubota, so that was all I was sure about. And my Allis Chalmers have oil bath. But I agree, it is a good idea. Back in the late 90's and 2000's I hauled wood chips. That job was brutal on air filters.
  17. You got that right. I have a LOT of friends that got their deletes and programs from that biggest, most famous delete outfit that does all the advertising. And they ALL blew up.
  18. Which is why I like my Kubota tractors. They have an inner and outer element. You change the outer and the inner is there to catch anything that may fall in when you remove the outer. But even on the big trucks, I am more careful than most dealers would be. When I remove my filters I shop vac the cans out and wipe out the intake elbows as far as I can reach. Same with greasing. I wipe the fittings off BEFORE I grease. It irritates me when I see people just push the grease gun on and start pumping the dirt in with the grease.
  19. Another thing people don't think about. When I was still running Cat motors I used to use Cat's SOS engine oil sampling at every change (I changed my oil and filters at 300 hours as it was on/off road vocational use) Anyway one winter I started getting higher than average sodium levels in my oil. I went to my local Toromont Cat and asked the service manager about it. He said "that is the winter road salt getting in through your air filters when you are running in the wet mist." After that I started replacing my filters every spring. And I am not a fan of those gradual lockup filter restriction minders. My new Stars, I get the gauges that read restriction real time. I find them way more accurate.
  20. Cool story mackdaddy. There were a few Freightliner cabovers in my town with V12's but I never got to drive any. Lumber haulers here had some big fancy iron back in the day. Ford CLT's with KT600's, lots if Mack V8's, Freightliners with KT's and V12's, Pete's with 3408's.

  23. I ran a 1988 R Model. The motor had to be replaced due to a previous drivers neglect. The motor we got for it, we were told by Mack was the very last E6 350 to come off the line as they switched to the E7. I know where the truck is still sitting but it is completely rotten now and someone after me over heated that E6 and cooked it. The truck currently has a 237 they stuck in it.
