  1. Never ran a V12 Hayseed, but spent lots of time in unmuffled Detroit's too. Mostly Ford Louisville dump trucks, a couple Paystar 5000's and two 5 Star Generals with 6-71, 6V53, 6V92, 8V53 and 8V71's and one 8V92TTA
  2. That's how I always described it Mack Tech. Like a helicopter at full pitch. I used to work for a fleet that had Superliners, both dump truck and pup and 5 axle dump trailers. All E9's with either 12 speed Mack's or 15 speed Eaton's. And all dual straight pipes with no mufflers. Nothing like passing tandem freight haulers on 12% hills in high range when you got 140,000 pounds and listening to that sound!
  3. I just got home from hauling snow. We were cleaning a parking lot at one of the big grocery stores in the city nearest me. They are open 24 hours a day. Well it was near riot and they had to have police there to control it and I left at 4 am and it was still going strong. Four lane highway leading into it and there was four lanes of traffic cutting each other off and racing in the parking lot to get in first. Tinfoil hat wearing doomsday prepper A-Holes. Put on your big boy panties you panzies.
  4. Ever notice how all this always happens in an election year? Coincidence?
  5. I'm getting my kid to post an add on facebook marketplace for me: For sale. Toilet paper. Charmine Extra Soft. Not that no-name brand you will find at other suppliers. Sanitized for your protection. $200.00 a roll. Additional bottles of hand sanitizer available. 8 fluid ounce bottle. $500.00 each. Call Shawn. (705) 649-5529
  6. I was thinking of taking my money out of the bank then start a public fear campaign that the financial institutions are going to collapse. Then just sit back and watch the show, LOL. I know how to solve this whole corona epidemic. All the fear mongers and media should just kill themselves. There, problem solved. And the rest of us can continue on with life just like we do every day.
  7. Sometimes I can't tell if you are being serious or just trying to stir the pot, LOL
  8. The f'n gene pool of society really has run out hasn't it? Wife just called from work. My city is sold out of toilet paper. People bought every f'n roll on the shelves. What, is corona going to cause mass shitting and diarrhea or something? The stupidity of this world sickens me. People should not be allowed to reproduce. Where's the corona virus? I'll lick it. Know why? Because I have an immune system and it stays strong by being around germs. F'n morons. Go drink more bleach you dumb @#$%^&*'s
  9. Yes, it is a bulbous hood. But sure beats lifting the cabs off my Superduties to work on them, LOL.
  10. Forgot I had these from when I went to body builder to pick up my new Star. I really hate those hood mirrors though. And I still prefer the previous dash and interior. But one nice touch (I thought I took a pic but didn't) that Mack did was put a grease bank right under the driver side door for the front spring pins, and the clutch cross shafts and release bearing. Is that an option or do all the Granites come with that?
  11. Here's one took pics of at the body builder (Wiltsie) And a few bonus Mack's.
  12. You have some RoadwayR? How do you like them? Anything you'd change about them?
  13. I'd love to put an old body on my F550 like that. I have the truck, just need the talent and the money, LOL
  14. When I went to my body builder last spring to pick up my new dump truck they had some CV's there. The owner says they and the the people that have bought them really like the CV.
  15. Wow! New headlights!! LOL TS7......I'm loving my new DD13 505/1850. Pulls good, awesome fuel mileage and no regen issues so far.
  16. I had lots of regen issues with my 2013 DD15. But unsure now if it was engine or dealer because at the end found out dealer techs were poking all the wire harness for the emission system with a test light and it all corroded. So far my new DD13 505/1850 is flawless. On light load stop light to stop light snow haul and no regens. Doing it all on it's own. The only reason I am liking Detroit now is because they feel the most "Cat" like the way the throttle and low RPM torque is. And I see the DD's coming into my dealer for rebuilds or replacement at 1.3 million KM's and all the used truck adds you see with Cummins most say motor replaced or rebuilt at 600 and some thousand KM. Our DD's.....only hard part I ever replaced was the fan belt tensioner. Our ISX...6 injectors, fuel injection pump, air compressor, egr valve and cooler, thermostat, DEF pump and numerous NOX sensors. Both had same mileage and years on them.
  17. THE GREATEST SOUND ON EARTH! I sure miss that. All the ones I drove were turned up and had straight pipes and I will never forget that sound. And the sound of the turbo whistle in the cab. There was nothing like passing tandem van freight haulers in the hills when you had 140,000 on.
  18. I wouldn't either, the Detroit is a superior engine! LOL
  19. Well the Western Star 5700 is a Cascadia, with a Star cab. And I think I posted pics on here somewhere, but yes, a new aluminum cab Freightliner with a W on the grill is coming. They said it is so they can offer a lighter tare weight and that the cab will be Western Star'ized with additional strength and bracing. My take on it....standardize and make more profit. We just got a new 2020. Hopefully we can get one more new 4900 before they turn into a Freightliner. But still, this 20 is better than the 2013, but Star's build quality is still crap and full of flaws. My 2013 was WAY worse built than our Mexican built Coronado 122SD. But I still prefer the current Star's cab and wiring.
  20. Wow, awesome speaking job there sales reps. LOL And so many technical details. Are they afraid to be on camera or did they just forget what they memorized off their cards? LOL Anyway, those cab air exhaust outlets will be welcomed IF THEY WORK. Because that is one issue I have had with both 4900's....the side windows tend to fog. My 2020 is better than the 2013 was, but if you put the heat on the floor, forget about seeing out the side windows until you get the cab really heated up. On defrost it is fine. And that's one of the best thing about the 4900/6900 Star's. They still use old school point to point wiring. Only one module (that I know of because my 2013 failed) is the one for the daytime running lights. But I have a bad feeling that in the near future Freightliner will screw this up and go multi-plex which I think the 4700 is (because it is basically a Freightliner 112 SD.)
  21. That's a good price. Hand scrolling is so nice. But now most of us take the easy way out and get decals made. Nice to see some good hand painted workmanship. Not a bad price either for all that!
  22. This is sad too. Many of us would like to contribute money to keep all these sites going, but on the same front it's a hard go just keeping our own businesses afloat with the rising costs of insurance, fuel and keeping these emission motors running.
