  1. My thoughts exactly. This is why I don't have a problem with people "stealing" pics, because many people learn new things by seeing these pics. I have tons of pics archived, many off this site even. I don't get any monetary gain from them, but i sure enjoy looking at the,.
  2. 6.0 My second 2007. After my first one I swore NEVER AGAIN! But here we go again. But this one I am keeping at STOCK power tune. But it has brand new heads, studded, new turbo and injectors, blue spring kit, upgraded HPOP, and the heavy duty Bulletproof brand oil and EGR coolers. So we'll see how long it lasts this time. Edit: It's also a motor out of a pickup, not the chassis cab version which I know in certain years used different turbos or something? Not sure about back in 07 though.
  3. Yaaay!!! Volvo gets the latest new vocational offerings instead of Mack! I LOVE YOU VOLVO!!!! You are the greatest name in trucks!!!!! They need to work on a mascot though. Something tough. Like maybe a poodle on the hood. How's that? Or should I do it all in capitals? LOL
  4. I didn't know it was monetary, I thought it was all about pictures getting used elsewhere. They were all in an uproar about that. I know some of you will disagree, but I just don't see why the big commotion. You post pics on a PUBLIC INTERNET. People with an interest in trucks look at, save or repost the pics. What does it matter if your name is on it or not? Nobody knows who you are anyway. it's just a pic. It's not like people are beating down your door offering to pay you a million dollars for your truck pictures. I don't know, I just don't get it. I post lots of pics on sites, I see them end up different places with no credit to me. Awesome! Glad people enjoyed them enough to look at and use them. I'll get you more. Didn't cost me a cent to take the pic with my phone and post, LOL.
  5. That should boost sales big time. Every school bus and ambulance in my area has switched back to gasoline engines. The Powerstroke motor in my F550 is fully rebuilt and studded and "bulletproofed" but if I ever had to replace that truck it would be with a gasser.
  6. Kubota just released their first Cummins powered tractor, the M8 which is built in a partnership with Versatile of Canada (now Russian owned.) It uses the B 6.7 Cummins. Versatile is a long time Cummins user.
  7. And before anyone gets offended by my funny pics here, know that I have many native friends and I live beside a reserve. And I truck with many of them. And even THEY said the ones on these protests are lazy wastes of skin. And some are even their relatives. Their words, not mine.
  8. I heard it is starting to move. It was all about the environment don't you know, but as soon as the Indians got offered some money the environment suddenly became good. Imagine that.
  9. Yes, they are. I just thought it was funny.
  10. I had no idea Mack's were repowered with IH RD engines either. Thanks for all the info gentlemen.
  11. Not to be outdone by Volvo, CN Rail starts work on their own Tower of Power.
  12. Nice pic Swishy. That is the same style we have here in the steel mill if any of the two are still running. They have everything from C500 and 6900 Star dump trucks, up to 777 Cats in there. They are pretty cool looking with the duals front and rear, but I have always heard these models were plagued with mechanical issues.
  13. Thanks guys. This truck pre-dated the B Model. I forgot what model it was. It was 1920's or 30's. But the guy was saying Mack used International motors in them because at the time they did not make their own engines. So I didn't know if that was true or not.
  14. I was watching a show (Machinery of the Past) on the Rural Channel we have hear. A guy had an old Mack, I think it was 1930's? Anyway he said Mack used International motors at the time. I have never heard this? I'm thinking the guy was just mis-informed because Mack started out as International Motor Truck Company. So am I right or did Mack ever source an engine from International Harvester?
  15. Wow! More cool info. I never even knew they had Dodge trucks in Australia. And they look nothing like the ones we had. So they were popular in Australia? Isn't it funny how that goes too.....International has built trucks for all of the "big three"
  16. I can't even get excited about the new interiors. Less gauges (and unclearly labelled at that), the seats pushed out against the doors and no more paw print floor mats, bulldog emblems or Bulldogs on the mirrors any more. It's like they are trying to erase all hints to Mack heritage. But they aren't the only ones. Just like I said before, the new brain trust at International (who came from Peterbilt...enough said) thought it was a good idea to discontinue all the old heritage names like Paystar, Transtar, etc and replace them with such iconic memorable names like HX, HV, LT, CV. Wow, that's clever.
  17. Regardless of who was better, I have room at my place if anyone wants to park Mack M, Payhauler or R35 Euclid here. I drove an early R35 Euclid with a 6-71 Detroit and no power steering. What an experience that was!
  18. Thanks for those pics KS. I wonder what problems they had? I have read that these Payhaulers would run circles around the Mack and Euclids of the time. They said they had higher top speed than all the other haul trucks of the time. (I'm talking about these original late 50's/early 60's Payhaulers.) But the ones that came with Rolls Royce engines had problems, like high oil consumption and failures. (IH Canada used a lot of Rolls Royce power at at time.) Now the later Payhaulers with all wheel drive that had the dual tires front and rear.....they did not earn a very good reputation for reliability. There are still one or two of those working in our local steel mill.
  19. So just started reading a book my good friend Hank sent me. "A History and Memories of International Harvester In Canada 1903-1985" I recommend this book to all IH fans. Which led me to searching Google Images, so sorry, I cannot credit the taker of this pic. Anyway, not only was Ontario, Canada the home of the Mack M-Series off road trucks, but also the Payhauler. Man, were these (and the Mack M) ever good looking trucks!
  20. https://www.trucknews.com/transportation/volvo-builds-a-truck-tower-with-new-rigs/1003136772/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=newcom&utm_campaign=TruckNewsDaily&utm_content=2020022670048 Kinda like how they stack them at the scrap yard. LOL
  21. Heard a rumor Ram is ditching the Aisin transmission and will be offering the Allison behind the Cummins soon?
  22. I remember when I used to look forward to my new Mack calendar every year from my dealer. Western Star used to have nice ones too, but the last couple I got they started using cartoon pics instead of real trucks. I don't even bother getting one from my dealer any more.
  23. I've ran a few 1980's R Model's with E6 350's that grossed 140,000 pounds their whole life and they had the odometers rolled past zero two and three times also. Last one I ran even had the very last E6 motor to come off the assembly line according to Mack. Those were the days. Only thing that ever came close to my old R Model was my 2002 International 9900i C15 Cat. It had 1.3 million on it and was never touched, and it's still working every day with it's new owner. Try that with a new emission motor! LOL

    Volvo

This is the deck and winch off a friends bed truck. Look which barrel is crushing and causing it to fall over......the Volvo one! LOL. I thought Volvo's were made of "high strength steel?" LOL I saw that last night and couldn't resist. Wish the pic came out clearer though.
