  1. They gotta quit letting their customers drive!!
  2. Nope, will derate then shut down, then it's a trip to the dealer. Unless you are deleted, LOL And you don't even have to run out.....they will do the same it the sensors think it is bad quality DEF.
  3. If it's just for bling, I vote no. Looks awesome as is. I like your real dog there too, LOL
  4. Agree. Those first mechanical and electronic E7 400's were one of the last great Mack motors. I ran one in a CL that grossed 140,000 all the time and it did everything all my other E7460's would do. But was a lot more reliable.
  5. OK, I haven't paid real close attention lately, but I had thought I seen that designation used on the twin steers that are quite common up here.
  6. You sure it is for lift axle and not twin steer?
  7. Very cool. That truck must get a lot of looks when you show up! Nice job you did.
  8. That's cool right there! What's your plans for it?
  9. That sounds interesting too. Get to see lots of cool cars. Lack of respect seems to sum up most of the industry these days. I had to get out too. It was getting too depressing between the crappy rates, the crappy drivers on the road and mostly these new junk emission motors that can't run a full week at a time. I still love trucks, just don't want any part of the industry.
  10. She still dump trucking Joey?
  11. Here's my new dump truck. It's got a full time PTO but doesn't have spreading chains though, LOL
  12. Ya, I've always done it with a manual trans. I didn't know how the M-Drive works with no clutch. I didn't know if you had to be stopped in neutral to engage the PTO, or if you could engage on the fly. I still remember spreading with the Mack 12 speed in a Superliner. You had to pick the right gear to get the box to raise at the right speed to match your road speed. It was like a 5 speed PTO, LOL I love spreading gravel. Especially with the pony trailer on. Do the trailer, hit the diverter valve and do the truck in one shot. But I especially like not trucking at all any more, LOL So much nicer just looking at them now, remembering the "glory days" LOL
  13. I believe that is what the op was asking....how to tailgate spread with the chains when you have an M-Drive.....if the PTO can be engaged and the box raised while driving in gear. I also wondered....I guess you CAN engage the PTO while driving with the M-Drive? I wasn't sure if you had to stop first.
  14. Cheating your log book with a sleeper berth. 😉
  15. I'm sure you already found your answer, but I got this from salesman I was talking to when I enquired about this truck. But it was already sold. It had the M-drive also. [When the truck is in gear, the brake acts as a clutch pedal. Typically you would put the truck in neutral to lift the box and dump but you can still do this in gear to spread- You still have control over the box/ PTO as long as you are not feathering the brake. I hope this helps/ makes sense.]
  16. Ya, my collection starts around 1980, LOL First class 8 trucks I drove were 1978's.
  17. Awesome thread, and awesome truck Oldspwr!!
  18. I sthat a Silver 92 emblem I see on the twin steer? Wouldn't that be an obnoxious beast driving through town now!!! I love it!
  19. Thanks Mark. I didn't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere.
  20. I've often wondered why they never caught on as self loader logging trucks.
  21. Mandrewoid, thought I'd show you this. The very first DMM to arrive in my town when they first came out. After this one, they took over the entire ready mix industry here.
  22. That is wicked cool. Thanks for posting. It's too bad you didn't want to keep it as just a show truck, but I get it. I realize you want to use a truck to tow your trailer. But that mixer is so rare, and cool though.
  23. And that's why the MTO/DOT ignore all these issues. Now that I have retired from trucking I got a job in a mine and I sometimes have to unload transports with the forks on my wheel loader. I recently unloaded a transport that came in with 4 big steel ventilation fan housings that took up whole trailer. The tractor had all bald tires, and the doors held shut with bungee cords. The big housing at rear of trailer had ONE strap on it that was dragging on ground because it sawed through. The middle two had ONE strap each over them. (A lot of good one strap does on a round object) And the front had NO securement at all!!!! I sent pics to my local MP and the head of the MTO (DOT). Know what the repsonse was? "Yes, this is an unfortunate situation." End of conversation. But don't any of you veterans of the road get caught with a marker light out!!!!!!! And the other day one got pulled into the scales (I know inspection officers.) They asked for his license. He pulled out a hand written piece of paper from his boss. They told him that is not a license. He says "boss tell me that good. good good....you go....you drive ....good." No, I'm not a racist. Just bringing reality to light. Anyone that operates like that does not need to be on our highways.
  24. What did this truck have for power? Cat ot Cummins?
