nothing like a NEW truck. the 2019 Kenworth T880 triaxle had 97 miles it when i got it. the 2022 T880 tandem had 200 miles, the 22 triaxle had 245 miles, and the 24 T880 had 110 miles. the 19 has well over 400k miles on it now and looks like it has not been washed since the last time i washed it in april of 22. the tandem has 31k on it, the 22 triaxle has 34k miles on it, and the 24 just turned 21k miles. we downsized drastically after 2021 with just the boss and i running the 3 dumps, the lowboy, and mason dump for the past 4 years. when i got sick we hired a friend that had just retired to help out.

Bob, he is either gonna spend money on the truck, or the race car. better on the truck.

just re read the whole thread..... i remember about 90% of the trucks posted, and sad to see that so many of the trucks are no longer with us.

a friend lives in a 175 year old house. it has had 2 additions over the years, a 20X30 rear portion, and a 30X30 living room/kitchen off the side. there was an uprite piano in the 30X30 section when he bought it. after finishing restoration of the original house lower floor, he moved the piano back into it and it started playing by itself. i told him to stop, pianos dont play with no one near them. this went on for a few years. then one day we were in the kitchen, and heard the piano playing went into the old section, and it stopped. but no one was there. he said now you believe me, huh? this went on for another 3-4 years until there was a fire in the old carriage house. during cleanup we found a headstone of the original owner and builder of the house, who was also a piano player, and that piano was his.. apparently he was buried behind the house and when the 20X30 rear addition was added, they moved the stone to the carriage house. after doing some research we found the burial details and cleared rite up against the foundation and placed the stone against it, as close to the original grave site as we could. the piano never played on its own again.

when i ran manhatten with the oversize, 99% of the time i had police escort both in and out of the city as we would have 4-6 cops working traffic for us. so going in they would close down intersections for me to turn and made sure i got there, and then going out they would do the same thing to make sure i got out safely. usually 2 or 4 for traffic control, and 2 to keep pedestrians out of our way and make sure the trucks, machines, and their contents did not grow legs and walk away.

regular gas today was $5.10, and diesel was $6.48. i filled up at costco for $4.85 per gallon.
