  1. I might be wrong, but I think the adaptor you're describing for the Nuway is the same as the one for a Hendrickson. He's talking about using an Airliner. That seems like an easy one to use as a single axle. See them all the time. Might be a challenge to get the drive line down to the level of the pinion though as compared to Mack top load double reductions. Fairly large drop compared to wheel base.
  2. Rol loc makes short work of cleaning it off. Didn't have them back then either.
  3. Joey, back then it was commonly referred to as "shellac" (lol) everything was going to leak if you didn't use the shellac on it. Least around here in this area anyway.
  4. Pictures are always good. I'm sure someone could make a suggestion.
  5. I just wanna know if the chassis is gonna venture down to Macungie (I'm pretty sure it's gonna run)
  6. I actually burst out laughing at that one. And just think, the (manshed) sticker probably has some meaning we're not aware of.
  7. I know..... she's hot right ????
  8. Charley's gone. Dick Laing up in Binghamton got absorbed by D & W . I don't think the old Allentown Mack does it anymore. The others ??? IDK.
  9. Yes..... not his first . We don't have a pump guy here anymore. The go to guy in my area here passed away a little while back, and I don't think the Mack dealer in Allentown has the pump shop anymore.

And taking their foot off the gas peddle is NOT an option.
  11. No goats 🦌 were harmed in the making of the videos (lol) I think Fred may have played us all a little here (in a good way) Seems like this wasn't the first time he's had a governor apart. Great stuff no matter. Like I said before, fewer and fewer people are capable of making such repairs. Thanks for sharing and explaining.

Volvo should make rainbow colored sealant. Seems like they can get toothpaste in a tube like that. So RTV shouldn't be too difficult 😁

Yes Bob....they believe the head should be in pristine condition for when the hormone therapy or anti depressant meds come into the picture. There's a brief overlap between a kid on a bike and the meds in that state.
  15. I'm grasp'n at straws here (lol) Just sometimes easy stuff gets overlooked . I've seen trucks with the puff limiter disconnected do this. Maybe it's because of some other underlying issue in the governor, but it'll do it. Then once it starts, and you get bounced around because of it, it amplifies it all. These things are old, who knows what could be worn by now, and guys familiar with them to make a repair are becoming a scarcity .
  16. Lever's not on backwards ? Should be going to the spring part (break) at full throttle .
  17. The throttle shaft where it comes out of the governor. There's a lever ( serrated to go on the shaft and often has a 1/4" pinch bolt ) it has a spring in it that is strong enough to move the throttle shaft, but when the shaft rotates it's full travel the lever " breaks " so you're not still twisting the shaft. It's made with a spring to buffer that point of full throttle and linkage travel.
  18. I'm convinced they check to see about getting every drop of warranty they know is a slam dunk. Then if your truck happens to get fixed yaaaay. Even a good technician that may very well know what's wrong, if they don't know how to get paid for it. Good luck. F is correct, but meanwhile the truck sits, insured, licensed, missing revenue, but the dealer gets paid. It's a F@$*ing joke.
  19. I'd expect they'd find a crack in the hood..... due to driving it into the building. This is getting more and more common. Don't know what's wrong or how to get warranty to cover it ? Just hand the customer a bill, then say they don't have to put up with you treating them that way. If the EGR cooler was bad ? I'd expect there very well could be coolant in the DPF.
  20. Sorry to read this Joey. One of the things that sucks about getting older is we all experience this.....as dumb as it sounds , if we're lucky maybe a couple times. For what it's worth to ya ? most guys that have an effect on us, by just being themselves, never know just how much they did .
  21. Last I read wasn't the Scania something like 732 HP.
  22. You do know they're a cousin to the E9
  23. One of these pictures of her is going to have the bag of Doritos in the frame sooner or later.
