  1. I'd like to have a little heart to heart with Greta. Let her know how much I've spent on DEF and after treatment and how many tens of thousands of dollars such great world saving ideas (like the Mack AMI) Figure it'd warm her up for when she goes to china to straighten out leg hump'n xi.
  2. I'm with Paul on this one . Even if he is speaking out of fear of a visit from gretzilla (it's understandable, she's angry)
  3. (lol) yes, she made that speech and had that infamous dramatic moment asking "how dare you" then got back on her sail boat and went home. Bullhead coulda meant justin.....or who knows
  4. I'm confused . Which "little lunatic" ? you're going to need to be more specific .
  5. Don't forget, when you jack it up like that (blue or green) if you go high enough you'll be losing the effect of the parking brakes. If you have one out of adjustment or a failed maxi on the side not jacked up, it's not impossible for the truck to try and roll. Use a little caution .
  6. Wait until you have this engine running. You're going to be surprised at how smooth and quiet the engine is ( not the exhaust ) .
  7. My guy here is pretty good. He's also older and isn't able to do as much as fast and all that good stuff. The Mack dealer that was in the area that did the heads rods and injection components ....all gone. I guess it's only going to get worse as time goes on.
  8. A true machinist is a dying breed . Most places only want to do CNC stuff and most parts anymore just get thrown away and replaced by something else. Polishing a big crank shaft like that ? Not a ten minute job. Not many guys will get involved (more than likely a guy named Matt will end up doing it) If it miced out ok, polish it and use tri metal bearings. (most likely all that's available for that application) Then you get to go through the whole cleaning ordeal again. Don't let some guy trying to sell something talk you into aluminum bearings. All the younger guys think they're all the rage.
  9. It is hard to see, but if the bushing is walking out of the rod, it's not impossible . It'll be hard to see it if it flies apart too, but that'll be from vision distorted by tears 😪
  10. Probably better to pull the pan off and give it a thorough look at the wrist pins. You might find yourself looking in there without removing the pan.
  11. not that kinda sweater puppy
  12. Family friendly.... yes. Maybe Mack could change from using the Bulldog, to the sweater puppy as a mascot .
  13. Still better to have and not want... than want and not have
  14. Volvo took over what was left of White when the company was failing . Around the same time ( a little later ) they took over GMC . They referred to the trucks as "new family" or something like that. By the early '90s all of them left had that Volvo style cab and usually had grilles with the slash (!!! not the curly haired guy that plays the guitar !!!) Then it was all Volvo...... then in the early 2000s they started the take over of Mack. What next ?
  15. I have a sneaking suspicion the "big guy" is a funny look'n fella with big ears and a big mouth..... calls people "folks" a lot and is now quietly serving his third term as president somewhere
  16. Yes. Ironic that happening to White after they bought up everything in their path back then, then it happened to them. Out of all of them that were made and in service over all the years, they are a rare sight today. Seems more chances of seeing a General than an old Road Boss.
  17. Smaller ? White was huge. Back even into the earlier "80s you couldn't go a day without seeing one. I meant the actual truck in the video. That was a fancy truck as Whites went.
  18. I kinda wonder what ever happened to the White. Easy to forget how handsome they were when they were dressed up a little.
  19. Didn't Macks usually come with Haldex on them in that era ? Gunites are junk...but usually work until they're backed off at least. I don't have much faith in any form of gold brake chamber either. There's differences in those two pin clevises too. Is that miss matched ? Also wondering about the suspension. Is the bushing wiped out in the spring eye ? Does the truck have aluminum hubs ? if so, are they rotted ? SO hard to figure from texts and not looking right at it. Just a side note on the Gunites. It's worth loosening the air chamber from the mounting pad so as to back off brake adjustment, then after removing drum turn the adjustment on the Gunite slack in the adjust direction to get it back to where it needs to be with new shoes and drums. At least they still work if you only adjust and not back off it seems like to me anyway. (lol) some nice Gunites, some cheap gold air chambers and those new RSD shoes, makes for one fine stopping truck
  20. Was that by any chance when all this started ?
  21. IDK this one is another one that makes you wish you were there. The little pin looks funky. Is it the right clevis ?? picture looks almost like a welded on clevis. ( IDK why, I can't zoom in on the picture ) I'm starting to think something with that air chamber.
  22. Sometimes when someone changes a air chamber they just measure what's sticking out of it and cut the new one to that length which may not be correct, then nothing there works right. That chamber doesn't look very old. Did this issue start after that was replaced ?

    jake brake

You don't have an MP 7 with two valve covers. Or a 2005 with an MP7. just in case you search somewhere else for info.
  24. Still no looking at pilot pads on hub ? Interesting point about the air chamber too. Any of those good ones usually aren't a very good product.
