  1. I'd expect they'd find a crack in the hood..... due to driving it into the building. This is getting more and more common. Don't know what's wrong or how to get warranty to cover it ? Just hand the customer a bill, then say they don't have to put up with you treating them that way. If the EGR cooler was bad ? I'd expect there very well could be coolant in the DPF.
  2. Sorry to read this Joey. One of the things that sucks about getting older is we all experience this.....as dumb as it sounds , if we're lucky maybe a couple times. For what it's worth to ya ? most guys that have an effect on us, by just being themselves, never know just how much they did .
  3. Last I read wasn't the Scania something like 732 HP.
  4. You do know they're a cousin to the E9
  5. One of these pictures of her is going to have the bag of Doritos in the frame sooner or later.
  6. The plastic oil pan isn't a bad idea. At least not here where I live. FYI that one and done plug in the bottom of it ?? that's the place to drain it. If someone gets the bright idea to drain it out the threaded plug in the side of the plastic pan while it's hot..... DON'T ( ask me how I know ) 😂 MX isn't a bad engine and in some ways reminds me of maybe something like where a grey engine might have been by now. The support on the MX is actually worse than the support on a grey engine now in my opinion.
  7. You have very good ability to know what makes a good picture Vlad, interesting things most of us guys would never see any other way than your pictures. Certainly would be looking at those things if I were there . Thanks
  8. Yes yes.... and able to travel hundreds if not thousands of miles by foot.... and know the way. No one seems to notice that part either.
  9. Might still be the most powerful V8 that actually runs and has a life. You know the chinese one is reverse engineered .
  10. That LTL is a mixed bag of Ford parts. Tiny Hendrickson suspension on the cut off too, with U bolts. I guess if it was a farm truck it would be ok. I kinda like it in some ways. Cab's way newer than that hood. That one step looks to be Peterbilt. Some interesting trucks there .
  11. The front of that is in pretty nice shape. That has an equally impressive stretch job on the frame.
  12. I believe you're right Paul. Reason I went to CR was cause of the anti lock brakes. Then after accumulating all the tools for them, I gave away all my Stemco tools. Your last line is often overlooked. Nothing has a chance of working if it's ruined from the word go.
  13. I'm serious. by then I'll be in my seventies. I'd like for common sense to make a come back before then, but there'll still be diesels lingering by then. Even if they are Howos.
  14. What's the worry ? By the time it happens ??? all of our Jazzys are already electric.
  15. Grit Guards don't work on as many things as they used to because of the exciter ring (tone wheel) for the anti-locks. The correct tool is a must though if using one. To add to Joey's mentioning the correct adaptor as per the seal's packaging, the adaptor is just big enough to fit over the spindle where the inner bearing goes. Then the contact surface that pushes the wear ring on is flat ( the wear ring has no choice but to go on straight ) . If you use the proper tooling (as Joey said) you won't end up with a wear ring like in the picture. Some guys would remove wear rings by driving a chisel into the wear surface. If it was hit hard enough it could nick the wear surface of the axle housing (spindle) or ??? if a previous failure grooved it up, that's where a coating of silicone or number 2 Permatex comes in for inside the wear ring. That picture looks like it was driven on with a punch or hammer. Now a days there's all sorts of wheel seals that don't require a installation tool of any kind. Then there's the adjusting the wheel bearings after determining if they're serviceable ......... whole other story. (like someone who would do that to a wear ring would put the wheeel bearing nuts on with a hammer and chisel too)
  16. An 11/22 is a 12/24.5. 11/24.5 will go right on yours' but you may need different spacers and wedges. An 11/24.5 will be a little smaller than a 11/22, and depending on manufacturer you may not even notice. !!!!! 22.5 is tubeless 20" and 24.5 is tubeless 22" !!!!! AND 24" tube type is a whole different animal all by itself. Confused yet ? (lol)
  17. You're ok Mech. If you pointed out a single disc pump..... well then I'd wonder
  18. That's a Small Cam in that truck. I see a compression release on there. Looks to be a 350 with the intercooler on it.
  19. Change to a Big Cam is a easy swap. After so many years, maybe it is by now ?
