    Our local alignment guru's last step when he aligns a truck is to pop the steering wheel off and center it. He says it is a common procedure.

    This was for sale on Craigslist recently, I called on it, and the guy seemed really nice, told me a lot about it, but I couldn't get a chance to look at it for a few days. Knowing that this truck would sell quick I gave Dirtymilkman a heads up about it. I guess he made a deal with the guy, and then the a-hole sold it to someone else. Anyhow I've been thinking about that truck, and now I have a huge burn to own an E-9.

    Congratulations, I remember my test, I was one of the first ones in ND to even have to do a pre-trip, cold weather was on my side, I was dressed for it, the female examiner wasn't.

    Having trouble sending pm' s. Anyhow I have 2 tanks one is 24.5 in diameter the other is 25.25. One is butt welded to the ends the other is lap welded. I'm not sure what it would cost to ship, but could take it to a truck shipper. Was thinking $200 for the tank.

    If that tank isn't up to specs I've got an aluminum one I would part with.

    I've pulled them apart and cleaned them, and put some grease on them. Of course you can buy them new but they aren't cheap.

    Some people I know of running mack seem to mistake their ruggedness for never needing maintenance. It disgusts me to see these trucks in such poor shape. I have picked up a few of these macks over the years, and it's amazing what a $1000 dollars and a couple of days can do. The idiots that owned these trucks thought they were shot.

    Most likely your spindles that the wiper arms mount on are rusty. It will act like the motor is failing.

    I know of a good one with a 671 up here in ND for 1500 if your serious I could do some digging and make sure the guy still has it.

    Just out of curiosity why do you want to switch to hub pilots? They can be a total bitch to remove the inside dual if it has been on a long time.

    The " kriete group" in Madison Wisconsin has a 2003 vision with an insulated body on it. At least it should be pre egr.

    If you don't mind replacement quality they are the same as 47-51 chevy pickups, available from classic truck parts of america.

    I'm trying to swap in a crd93 from a '69 into an '86 the axle splines don't seem to be cut deep enough to slide in. They both are 17 spline, and measure the same size. Anyone ever run into this?

    Does anyone know the part number for the threaded pass thru in the head that the solenoid wire hooks to for an e-6 with a dynatard? My dealer looked it up it's the right picture but his number supersedes to a spade terminal.

    Flywheel to crankshaft is 185ft.lbs.

    I test drove one in a freightliner once, maybe it wasn't running right, but it seemed really short on power. I think they do hang together o.k.

    It really pisses me off when people call pickups "trucks". I've got a brother in law that says this, every visit we have to argue about it.

    Make sure the shop checks/vacuums out your intercooler for metal. I've heard of guys not doing that and it has cost them big.
