  1. Looks like a really nice trip especially with a lovely navigator and photographer on board.
  2. Welcome to the site and congrats on your acquisition. Hope you can get the pictures loaded.
  3. Thanks for pictures. Did you use "wide angle" for the ATM shot?
  4. I see what you're sayin'. It almost looks like an elastic band of some sort, but that is all I see after a long study.
  5. Keep those ribs hot I'm on my way!
  6. Best Wishes. Keep on havin' em
  7. Thanks for honoring this great American hero.
  8. Sounds like a trip to my grandfather's farm as a kid.
  9. I thought they used bear fat to grease those.
  10. They are going to have to rewrite the book "100 Uses For WD-40" to "101". (lol)
  11. Absent a shop manual I would manually turn the flywheel and watch the hole to see if timing marks show up. If and when then you can mark them so you can see them with the timing light. Having said all of that check first as Ed mentioned for a timing pointer and marks at the harmonic balancer.
  12. A friend of mine saw this truck with a for sale sign in Fredericksburg, VA. Nice looking. Not mine and I don't know the owner or have any interest. I listed it as a topic of discussion. Jan 25, 2018 • Trucks • 28 Comments Stunning 1947 International Harvester KB6 image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/1947-International-Harvester-KB5-630x394.jpg image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Todd-Fitch_avatar_1510764313-24x24.jpg By Todd Fitch This fabulous 1947 International Harvester KB6 road truck shows no trace of barn dust, but it’s too impressive not to share. Thanks to reader Fred H. for spotting this heavy duty beauty from Fredericksburg, Virginia. Heavy trucks lack the commodity status of a 1969 Camaro, and restoring them is nearly always more labor of love than investment. However the $50,000 Buy It Now price here on eBay would certainly take the sting out of selling a pet project. Just looking at this thing makes me want to don a brimmed hat, shake my fist, and bark “Why, I oughtta pound you!” image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Giddy-Up-630x394.jpg While this KB6 may look too pretty for work, it’s certainly capable of pulling a load. The seller describes it as having an 2001 International air ride suspension. image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/1947-IH-KB5-3-e1516900810527-630x380.jpg The fifteen-speed transmission provides options for hauling a parade float… or an Abrams M1 tank! The attractive tufted seat cushion looks far more comfortable than the vertical seat back. No slouching, or I’ll feed you a knuckle sandwich! The simple steering column reminds us of a simpler time when no one questioned the wisdom of aiming a metal spear at the driver’s sternum… in a vehicle with no seat belts. image: https://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/1947-IH-KB5-4-e1516900842139-630x380.jpg Built between 1975 through the early 1990s, the workhorse Caterpillar 3208 produced between 210 HP and 375 HP, and even more with turbocharging (thanks to itstillruns.com for some details). Torque ranged between 480 and 620 lb-ft of torque. This award-winning show truck appears to need nothing, though I might suggest screens to keep grade-schoolers from chucking *whatever* into the giant exhaust stacks. Personally I’d borrow this beast and fill up the rear view mirror of every lifted pickup I could find; little dogs should stay on the porch. What would you do with this heirloom-quality hauler? 13. Confirm on the shifting, practice practice. As MD suggests alignment may be causing the wondering. I had the same problem and alignment made a big difference.
  14. I would say defiantly save until you can get some pictures on here.
  15. Maybe they will now be required to put safety stickers on the train.
  16. That's a nice first gen Bronco. Thanks for posting.
  17. Always a treat to see the "girl in a car" shots. Just curious, have you ever been caught snapping one of those?
  18. ...and pay shipping both ways.
