  1. 41 Chevy, can you tell me what the part number is for the AC springs you got? I have several AC's, and am always interested in parts sources. Thank you. Carey
  2. The wheels on the two on the left look like AK wheels or AC4 (6 spoke), and the first one has a vacuum booster. The other truck (with 1932 on bumper) sure looks like one of the AP trucks built for the Boulder Dam project.
  3. A better picture of my AB ladder truck, for those that are interested. Carey
  4. Carl, you forgot my 1924 AB5A ladder truck. Originally sold to Kinston, NC, it ended up in Va. Beach, where I got it in 1984/85. As you know, I wish to make it into a "bus" similar to the one I have seen pictures of that Mr. Mahan has.
  5. Here is a picture of my Mack built gun trailer when I bought it in 1976. I am in the process of restoring it and a 1918 AC Mack to pull it. Carey Leitch
  6. I have a mack built 4 wheel trailer used to haul a 3" antiaircraft gun in World War 1. Don't have the gun, but the trailer has AC rear wheels, and is extremely heavy. It has the old style rectangular brass tags that said Mack in script, International Motor Company, and a space for a serial number. Bought it 38 years ago from a farmer. His dad had purchased it as war surplus in the 1920's. It is exactly like the unit pictured on page 165 of John Montville's book, "Mack". Don't think it made it to Europe. Twenty five miles up the road from me, at Quantico, Va. USMC base, they had a couple of these for several years. They had pictures of them at the old museum they had at the airbase on the river before they built the new museum a few years back.
  7. I also have a running chassis for a B67 that I would like to sell. It has a duplex transmission, and is a single axle. The steering box, steering wheel, radiator, front and rear axles and springs are there. I removed the cab (contour cab) from it for another project, but last summer we started the chassis and drove it around. Just another option for you if you are interested. We are about 90 miles from the Baltimore port, and about 120 miles from Hampton Rhodes port. What was the serial number on your AC. I have a 1918 3 1/2 ton AC that was sold to the US Govt for WW1, but it never got shipped to Europe. Carey
  8. Very nice find. I remember watching the show, wondering if anyone would follow up on it. Carey
  9. Looks like a radiator cap off of an AB Mack, probably late teens, early 20's vintage.
  10. 41 chevy, yes, 14 spoke. The spokes should be 3" x 4", and the wheel size would be 34 x 12 (or 14), and the tire size 40 x 12 (or 14). Thanks. My email is caricoinc@verizon.net. Located in Virginia, only 3 1/2 hours away from Hershey. Carey
  11. The "fronts" are definitely the rear wheels from an AC (seven spoke, have the holes in the spokes for the brake drum/sprocket). The "rear" wheels are only six spoke, and look like mid 20's International (model 63, 94), unless they are off of an AK Mack.
  12. Looking for two (2) rear wheels for a 5 1/2, 6 or 7 1/2 ton AC Mack, wood spoke, or any parts or pieces including a good spoke for a pattern I can borrow or buy. I can't make Hershey this year. Please let me know if you see anything. Carey Leitch, steelman
  13. Jerry, hello, yes, I plan to attend Winchester next Saturday. Will talk to you there Hancock, Thank you for the lead. I went to their web site and sent them an inquiry. Thank you very much. Would love to find one or two wheels, even in need of repair. Carey
  14. Still looking for rear wood spoke wheels for an AC Mack. Could use wheels with tires or without, or could also use the metal felloe parts. Anything would be appreciated. This is all I need to finish a 1918 5 ton which originally sold to the US Govt for use in WW1. Would like to finish up and bring to York, Pa ATHS convention in 2015 as well as Macungie. Carey Leitch, Fredericksburg, Va., 540.371.2301 (home), 540.373.5983 (work), or caricoinc@verizon.net
  15. I don't think the rear wheels are Mack either. They are 8 spoke, and AC's had 7 spokes. Also, as Superdog pointed out, the dust caps are wrong. The smaller wheels (fronts?) do have 14 wood spokes, which AC's had, but again, the dust covers are wrong. Early Internationals look similar to these. I would love to have the press on tires, if they are the correct size. My 2 cents worth.
  16. I am in the steel business, and am always amused by the amount of money people say they can get for scrap. In my neck of the woods, it would have to weigh approximately 35,000 pounds and be cut up to bring $2,500.00. Why would you buy something at an estate sale, and then scrap it? I think I smell something!
  17. I have the cowl section for the AC, but the upper tank is broken into many pieces and the lower tank and coils are not to be found. Both engines turn over freely, and the one in the AC has fired for me. Got these two weeks ago. Anyone know where I might find the radiator tank or coils?
  18. My latest finds that followed me home. A 3 1/2 ton AC about 1920 and the front end of another that I can use (even though it has AK front spokes). this makes 7 AC's for me. My friends think I might have a problem.
  19. I sent a message that I was interested in the AC's and R models. No reply. Was this just spam like someone else asked? No location, no pictures, no email, come on now.
  20. Welcome to the site. I am from Fredericksburg, Va. Are you near?
  21. I am interested in the AC's and R models. Where are they, and how do we get in contact with you?
  22. I watched also. The guy who hauled Evil's truck seems like the only one who has a clue. Am I the only one who wonders how they get away with too many hours behind the wheel, hauling huge loads with "pickup" trucks, etc. If I treated my customers like the hippie, I would probably need a full time dentist. Somebody needs to let the kid with the van know that MacDonalds is hiring. Makes my blood boil!
  23. I was watching shipping wars on tv, and I am confused. Except for one fellow with a tractor trailer, no one seems to worry about logs, gross weight they can haul, time behind the wheel, etc., in other words, all the things I concern myself with. I watched as folks with one ton pickups and tag along trailers bid on 30,00 pound loads and other "interesting" things. Are the rules different for hobbiests and hot shot trailers? Anyone else think this seems wrong?
  24. Send me a message with your contact info. I have sent you two (2) messages but have not heard from you. I have a AC I would sell. Steelman
  25. Yes, it is. I will take a picture and post, or send me your email address.
