  1. I haven't seen too much lately, but I did go to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona the day after Thanksgiving. There's some fine looking automobiles there, too much to see in one day. I heard there was a truck of some sort there with an R model cab on it, but I didn't see it. Just click on the picture to see the rest.
  2. latest update- I got an e-mail from Summit, they asked me if I wanted to cancel the order for the other floor repair panel, because now the estimated ship date for it would be sometime in February. I said yes, I do want to cancel that order. So I found a place in North Carolina that dealt in Ford restoration parts, ordered it from there, and it was on the porch in a couple of days.
  3. Yes, like I said they appear to be very well made and stout. I was expecting them to be flimsy but it's not at all. Still haven't gotten the other one yet. I ordered some cab mounts from J.C.Whitney for a 69 F100 one time, and they were just thin sheet metal, you could bend them with your hands.
  4. yeah, I hope so!
  5. That is a fine picture right there, hat's off to the photographer!
  6. The 302 in the red one ran good he said, it just needed transmission work, or maybe a transmission. But it's a 2 wheel drive, and a 4wd is what I wanted. It could be switched of course, but that's really getting into a lot of work. Besides, I have about $300,000 worth of new parts in the rust bucket now- tie rods, ball joints, u-joints, bearings, power steering parts, parking brakes...
  7. yes Bob, I still think a cab swap is too much for me to do, and I don't have anywhere to do it if I could, or anybody to help me. But I did find a good parts truck for $800. I was looking at used beds, because the one on the rust bucket is pretty rusty too, and used beds are as much as a cab. I can use the bed, seat, rear gas tank, tail gate, windshield wiper switch, and a mirror off of this one. And that's just the things that come to mind off the top of my head. Of course I don't have any hair left up there to hold anything in. This truck has a re-man 302 in it and it ran good. The owner parked it because the transmission was bad. I don't know what's wrong with it, he just said "the transmission blew up." I can probably sell the 302 pretty easy and get a few bucks. And when the bed is off we can get to the frame easy, and that rear gas tank too. I don't even know if I need to switch tanks, the guy I bought the rust bucket from said it leaked if you filled it up, so it might just need the rubber piece on the filler neck or something.
  8. This is very true. It was made in Taiwan. I ordered it from Summit Racing, and like I said it is a very stout piece. I didn't know Summit had stuff like that, but when I googled the repair panels they were one of the first places to come up. Only bad part is trhat I still haven't gotten the one for the driver side, and that side is the worst.
  9. This came from Taiwan.
  10. She might let you keep that. You stand a much better chance with that than zucchini girl anyway.
  11. Not to my knowledge, but I wouldn't have known him if I saw him. I didn't see anybody there that I knew, except Zina from Gladys. I was wearing my Big Mack Trucks T shirt too.
  12. One of the floor panels came yesterday. I was impressed, it looked good, not flimsy at all like I was expecting. This one is for the passenger side. I actually ordered them from Summit Racing. Now, the radiator support piece I need is $200 from the Bronco Graveyard place, but $95 at some other place. Cheapest is not always the best way to go, but neither is paying twice as much for something if it's of similar quality, so I'll look into that a little more.
  13. Somebody posted some pictures on Facebook, looks like there were more trucks there than there was at Colfax. I guess it's good to have more smaller local shows, but these two probably took some of each other's trucks because they're pretty close.
  14. Now you know Star wouldn't let you keep her, any more than Zina from Gladys let me keep the girl in the basket at the Winfall Piggly-Wiggly.
  15. Here's a link to the pictures I took in Colfax-
  16. here's the pictures I took at Colfax.
  17. I guess I do, but I got over-excited when I found a truck I could actually afford- but, the mechanic at the garage didn't see it until it was on the lift and he started working on it. And the dang thing had a good inspection sticker on it, that kind of pisses me off the most. I told the guy I bought it from about it and sent him pictures, and he apologised and said he didn't know. And I believe him. But whoever inspected it for him, that's a different story. All that didn't happen since the last inspection, somebody just slapped a sticker on it and collected their $20 and didn't inspect $#it. It's good to know somebody like that sometimes, I might have done some sketchy things to get a sticker before, like using a beer can and two hose clamps to hide an exhaust leak or something, but this is too much, it's ridiculous really. But i'm not going back on anybody to get them in trouble, and I should have looked closer. I probably would have still bought the truck, but at least I would have known what I needed to do and I probably could have gotten it a little cheaper. And, on the bright side, I have located about everything I need to fix it. Then I saw this girl in the produce section at the Winfall Winn-Dixie on the way home. She said ''excuse me, is this a cucumber or a zuccini"? I said ''how should I know, do I look like a botanist or whatever you call it to you''? She just stared at me and I continued on to the beer section. Seemed suspicious to me, I think she knew exactly what it was.
  18. Here's a few pictures-
  19. I took some pictures though, I'll post them when I get home.
  20. Sorry about your back...It was a beautiful day for a truck show. Very small show, but nice. We bought some peppers at the farmers market there too, the place was packed. Because of the nice weather I guess. I started to buy a bottle of that blueberry wine, but it was $15 and I'm on a fixed income now😁, plus I have a rust bucket to fix.
  21. well, anyhow, (as a man I once worked for used to say) i'm about to "scratch out", as nocluejoe66 would say, and head on down to Colfax, N.C. Maybe i'll see dignitaries like Joey Mack or the man with the red shirt and straw hat.
  22. Thank you, and funny you should say that, because I was just looking and found the piece to repair the rusted out cab mounts. I only saw it as part of a kit though, it came with the floor panels and door pieces. I already ordered the floor panels, but I can send them back. The mechanics over at F.L. Moore and Sons said to bring it over and we'll put it over the grease pit and take a good look at it underneath. Then if we can fix the broken frame, that's exactly what I'm going to do, just replace the rusted out floor panels and cab mounts. Putting a whole cab on it would be more expensive I'm sure, and probably above my skill level anyway. And they have the forklift to lift the body off, and we can roll it in and out of the shop instead of working on the ground under a tree. So I feel better about it today than I did yesterday.
  23. Thank you for this, and some are pretty close to me. There's cabs in Roanoke, Christiansburg, Louisa, Va. and Hillsborough, N.C, all of which are pretty close.
  24. Where do I send the check?..just kidding, I'm not falling for that again, is there any rust on them?
