No, saw this truck on marketplace -I think Zina actually saw it and showed it to me- we just thought it would be nice to have plenty of room for the dogs and it was probably more..."pleasant" I guess, to drive than the International. The International is running good now and it's fun to drive, but not for a long ways. I wouldn't want to drive it to Macungie, and I probably wouldn't want to drive it to Winchester. So now we have 2 trucks that we don't need 🤣

I think I posted about our new truck, we went to Tennessee and bought a new 1984 GMC Brigadier back around Christmas. 1984, not a 1974- were Brigadiers even invented in '74?..I guess not, they were produced from 1978 to 1989, I just checked. Anyhow, It has an L10 Cummins in it with a 9 speed, 4.11 rears. I drove it home from Greeneville, TN. and it ran like a clock. Zina was following in the pickup until she blew my doors off. She's like a truck driver, complaining that it was too slow. She called me on the phone and wanted to know if I was broke down, and if that's all it would do. And I was just cruising along as happy as if I had good sense. 🤣 Drove really nice too. The man we bought it from was 80 years old, and when I asked him when we went to look at it if he would get in it and take off to Alaska in it with no worries he said "no, but I would drive it to Vancouver, Washington". And that's what he was going to do this summer, until he had to have heart bypass surgery and decided that maybe he shouldn't. He's originally from there, his daughter is still there, and she didn't want him to make that trip either. He has another truck, I think it was a KW, and several cars and pickups that he had restored and takes to shows. But back to the story, I drove it up to FLM's a couple of weeks ago to get Timmy to adjust the clutch because it had no free play, and when I pulled over the pit the pump was leaking fuel. I didn't notice any leaks, and there was no evidence of anything leaking in his concrete driveway when we looked at it, but it had a pretty steady drip now. So I took the truck to Powell's Truck and Equipment in Lynchburg and they said it needs a pump. They could send the pump off and have it rebuilt, which would take a couple of weeks at least, or they could get a pump and it would take a month or more. If they had the pump rebuilt it would cost about $1600. If they put a pump on it, it would be about $1600. They said it just depended on how big of a hurry I was in. But if they got a pump it would have a one year warranty on it, so I told them to order it. I had no idea a pump was that much, I thought it would be a lot higher than I thought, like everything else, so I thought it would be 3 or 4 hunnert dollars.

So, how about this weather, eh? It looked like this here just the other day- Then after the snow we had the sleet, then the freezing rain, then more freezing rain, and more freezing rain. There was more trees and power lines down than you could shake a stick at because of the ice. We had no power for a little over 2 days. Fortunately we did get a generator and it powered everything we needed. We had 2 refrigerators plugged in, a freezer, Zina was able to work, and I could watch Family Feud. We got our power back last night about 6:30. It's been raining all day, it's supposed to rain tomorrow, and it's supposed to be windy, with 40 mph. gusts. The ground is completely saturated now so if it's windy more trees are likely to blow down and take out more power lines. The back yard is looking like this now-

I agree, the whole kneeling thing really pissed me off. I haven't watched any NFL game since all that started, but now I will check in on a game periodically to check the score or something and I might watch for a few minutes. I like the Bengals, and they could be on the verge of greatness if they get Joe Borrow the help he needs. I do still watch college football, especially if the Hokies are on TV.

Reminds me of an ad I saw yesterday- When I was a kid, many, many, years ago, I think we got 50 cents for a bale of straw. We did a lot of combining for other people, and we'd ask if they wanted the straw. If they did we'd cut the wheat low, if they didn't we'd cut it high so we could cover more ground faster with the combine. Most people did not want the straw, but if they could have gotten that kind of money for a bale I'm sure everybody would have baled the straw.

You must work at the same place Zina does. She has 3 monitors and a laptop for work, but she also keeps the TV on in her office all day every day.

Happy birthday!

I started watching the committee hearing this morning but when some democrat idiot said that the real problem was not wasteful spending by the government, the real problem was that the IRS needed more resources to collect more taxes, I turned the channel and started watching "Bar Rescue". How far out of touch with reality these people are just boggles the mind. I wish I remembered his name, but I do not. I just can not understand how anybody, democrat or Republican, red, yellow, black or white, can find fault with Elon Musk uncovering billions of dollars of taxpayer's money that's just being thrown away. Like several million thrown away for sex change operations in Guatemala.

Ray Sees McDonald’s Magic for the First Time

There used to be a Burger King in Appomattox but it closed. I always preferred a Whopper over a Big Mac. Used to be a Long John Silver's, it closed, and a Huddle House but it closed too. Not sure why. -

I like Applebee's, we usually go to Applebee's at least once when we go to Florida, when we can get Vicki from Florida's daughter to watch the dogs for us. We go when they have the "buy one get one free" deal for all drinks, and $6 burgers. I always said they need something like Applebee's in Appomattox- or a Twin Peaks would be fine too. But besides the usual fast food joints we have Mexican, Chinese, or pizza. That's about the only options around here, unless you want to drive to Lynchburg and deal with the crowds and traffic. -

Yep, there's one in Roanoke, one in Blacksburg, and several in the Richmond area, all over N.C. None in Lynchburg. -

There used to be a Red Robin around, I remember the commercials on TV. I don't know if there still is or not, our local channels are out of Roanoke and Lynchburg. I'll investigate. -
Wow, great pictures! Never saw a Toyota bigger than a pickup before. The red and white IH looks good too but those Diamond T's are the cat's ass!
-
Some fine looking units there, looks like a lot of Diamond T's, they're just sharp looking trucks!

Nice, thank you. I remember when you went there, those are some great pictures. That Ayers rock is something else!

I think i've got it now! Here's a picture I took of sleepy Joe and his bodyguard at a truck show in Colfax, N.C. a few years ago. He was walking around like an ordinary average guy at first... But later in the day he didn't look so good...

I heard Johnny Click - no, actually I read this morning that he caught the end of this on TV and wanted to see the whole thing. So I searched "The Day the Lights Went out" and it's on YouTube. Haven't watched it myself yet, but I'm going to. https://youtu.be/d0oxqG7Vgas?si=fMcCB_0QO6SFeekD
