I moved the big Mack truck over to where I used to park the GMC yesterday. That frees up some parking space when I want to wash something. I'll be glad when Joey picks up this big green International that runs now, that will free up space in the carport for my car. And today I decided that I should wash the big Mack truck. I moved it back over where it was so the hose would reach and discovered that birds had built a nest at the back of the hood. I looked in the doorway with a flashlight and there was no eggs in it so I removed it. If there had been eggs in it I would have put the truck back where it was and left it alone until bird's nest egg hatching season was over- because I'm just that kind of guy. So I gave it a wash job and parked it back over where the GMC was. It's facing east now, it was facing west when it was beside the carport. Maybe it'll get a little more protection from the sun there, it's hard on the paint sitting out in the sun.

I got a coupon in the mail for Great Clips, $11.99 for a haircut. I needed a haircut anyway, so when I went to pick up my prescriptions I went by the haircut getting place. The sign on the wall said "haircuts $20". It was right then that I remembered that I had left my coupon for the $11.99 haircut at home. $8 is $8 but I didn't come back home to get it, I just paid $20 and gave the nice haircut girl a $5 tip.

I'm going to do some tofu research. I've got to try it now, just to see what all the hub-bub is about.

But, on a happier note I stopped by the hardware store and bought 4 bags of potting soil. 2 more than I needed, but I'm gonna keep it. It was $60 for the 4 bags, 2 cubic feet each. I topped off the beds that I had onions in last year and planted more onion sets, 36 in each bed, and topped off the 2 blue containers that I had tomatoes in. That only took a bag and a half. I figure if I waited I could go to the farmer's market and buy about a pickup truck load of onions for $60, but what's the fun in that? 🤣

Looks like my eye drops prescription is ready at the Walmart store, better go get it.

Zina said we're having Cuban sammiches tonight and she wanted me to slice some of the pork loin real thin, so thin you could read the newspaper through it. So I did , maybe not quite that thin, but as thin as I could get it with a knife that's not as sharp as it could be. I didn't even taste it yesterday, just wrapped it up and stuck it in the fridge after it cooled. I still have a rack of leftover ribs in the fridge! But I did sneak a sample or three while I was slicing, and it was fantastic! I'm a barbecue person, don't know much about Cuban sammiches but I can't wait to try one!

Not to be taking away from the original concept of the story of marinating meat in Dr. Pepper, about the only thing I've found that Dr. Pepper is good used as a mixer in is Kraken rum. It's very good😊

The weather is beautiful today, eh? (That's Canadian, I learned it watching Highway Thru Hell. I love that show, I had many episodes saved from the Weather Channel that I watched, then I watched some on Tubi, now I'm watching it on the Roku channel. I don't know if you can still watch new episodes around these parts or not. I'm not sure they're even still filming it, but I think they are.) Anyhow, I didn't know whether to put this on the weather thread, the cooking thread, or pictures of the week. I put a pork loin on the smoker because it was so nice outside I thought I should be sitting outside smoking something, whether it needed it or not. Zina's at the bingo playing place playing bingo. I just turned it over. The cows in the field were looking at me funny, but I told them it was pork. They're ok with that. I believe it's Miller time now.

I never did. I've heard of pellet smokers, but not a pellet stove for home heat.
