  1. This comment is true to some degree ! Just to add to that there are a fare few steering wheel holders out there that haven't a Clue what there looking for OR at! I suspect half don't even check the oil and coolant!
  2. check your fuel pressure should be a min 15 psi 25 - 30 is normal!
  3. So leaving a little more info MAY help ! Like what model what year RED OR GRAY engine color Will even help believe it or not!! ! A little history also helps in diagnosing! Just sayin!

    Yup you bet its a sweetie! Got it back up and running yesterday seems to be all healed up I may tweek the timing a little in the coming weeks It is a little to smokey on startup when its cold for my liking ! spec was 17 on this I may bump to 20 just cause! we will see want him to go pull some weight with it before I make the call on this! So therapy is over for awhile for me it was fun while it lasted ! Mean while Mom got the Norwalk virus so Now she's in isolation with three other lady's in the same room shes worse off now than she went in in some ways! Un fortunately that's how it goes when your in an over crowded hospital!
  5. So not being a Guru on this How ever Our guys used to look at the fuel preasure to the 7th the reg to that injector would go fubar and need replacing or shimming could this be the case here? just asking! MP OXY ?
  6. Bro the oil/ coolant will be coming from the exhaust or the turbo! the other check is the turbo its self remove the inlet elbow and look inside! In my mind we can't ignore the coolant push totally! EGR cooler! We asume it is oil we see How ever is it?
  7. Yup they got enough to build and sell it to you they need to back up there warranty and get the parts ! There was a time when Mack on the odd occasion would pull from assembly line parts to get you going we had it done for us on several occasions! When Mack was Mack !The turbo feasco back in the early 2004 was an example!
  8. I also believe that they moved the fuel pickup and return to the mid tank location for that reason also! When this setup came out on the top mounted in and out there was a lot of grief with it! just my opinion
  9. Ya Joe That baffles me what goes thou the minds of these design guys there is no thought put into having to service any thing on these new rigs!! Everything has to be done the hard way can't put to use Gravity unless you use you Mexican credit card Or a spike! 😡 one good thing thou you don't have to replace the electric primer pump on the truck it don't got one! 😁

  16. Comes down to experience again in my mind and paying attention to details! You can't bandaid and cut corners too much on these engines it will come back to bite ya! If it says to do it a certain way you should probably do it that way! For the most part ! The Dam Special tools are a necessity not usually an option !You can try it with out but it will likley backfire! Is it just me or do I see a lot of aluminum filings on that sensor!??? You also hold in your hand a cause for a poor starting engine ! hopefully your not doing cups for nothing! Also is it possible that we have us another drive gear going south here? Was the engine making any rattle noise at the rear ???? Not trying to conger up fear or anything just askin! that sensor got hit by something! Much like My V8 project Chicken or the egg!?

    Well bro it’s kinda visa/versa on that statement! Iffin I had the brain capability I would have learned that shit also so my hats off to them guys for leaning that stuff! That said if you don’t have the mechanical end your kind of screwed just knowing the computer end! I had only removed a power tower once this way to re bush it! Never had a failure that put it a 1/4 turn out of time before! Spent a half hour primeing and checking lines and shit before checking the timing after finding the chip in the pump drive gear! Oh well! As for the mom situation it is that same issue with the hospital the backend doesn’t know front end is doing! It’s the same game as working on stuff get a good doctor making the right calls you get a decent result if not your S -O-L

  20. I quite like the coolant sucker tank its real expensive It was a recommended essential tool at one point ! but a nice have if you do lots of cup jobs! Was a money maker tool for the Volvo turds at one point! Most of those essential tools are 200 percent Mark up tools to the dealer real criminal ! Now you now why the part of the reason shop rates are so dam high a lot promoted by the Mother ship! Shop around guys!
  21. Might help ! But Proper HPCR would solve the problem ! However can teach an old dog new tricks! Its to bad they can't see the forest for the trees! But again if they leave it the way it is they can still sell injectors and keep Mack pro busy for years to come! 🤣

  24. Un plug the EGR Valve and see if this changes your situation! This is a test it will throw a constant code but try it!

    There ya go buddy ! some pics not much to see! had a couple of hours today so got it to the point you see it at the bottom! The truck is a toy ! So I drained the oil rinsed the valley and front cover with varsol got the tower back on today depending on how stuff goes with Mom will shove the fuel pump p/s and compressor on next week Hopefully see how it goes ! first pic is the failed compressor , 2 is the fuel pump drive gear, 3 valley,4 old power tower 5 is the toy it self , 6 is the tower back on as it sits at the moment! I'm Going to change the pump gear and hope the pump cam didn't get bent, jam it in there and time it and hope for the best !
