  1. Its not worth buying a pop tester unless you know what your looking for ! it is worth pulling the injectors and either rebuilding them or replace them with exchange! The oil could be evidence that the top oring is failing in the injector ! Just my opinion!
  2. politically correct term ( elderly ) My wokeness escaped me when I posted bro sorry! It was early I wasn't awake! 😁 for give me I'm usually more polite !
  3. Just wanted to mention that a member just did a head gasket re/re a month back here! My self I would just clean er up and take a chance! It’s old! The fire ring groves can be an issue if the shop ain’t set up for it! As mentioned! just sayin
  4. Curious if it has def on it! Or egr for that matter! If it’s for Canada probably! We have time to stop the war to regen! don’t we? 😂
  5. It’s unfortunate ! As the emissions got tighter they chipped away at the horsepower ! Calling a 350 a 460 was just BS we actually had a truck dynoed an alleged 460 dynoed out at just over 350 and they wouldn’t do anything about it! Lost that customer! Just political crap !
  6. Good call pro ! If you’re going to check this situation my advice is to replace that elephant tube in the process as they are a common fail item!
  7. we once accidentally put an mp8 boost sensor in an mp10 it turned that thing into an animal it would pull its heart out! It was so scary we got the right sensor for it in case it blew it self up!
  8. I often thought of deeking the sensor by regulating it to seeing only 33 psi I never had the opportunity to do it however it was a thought! If the computer could only see 33 psi it would maybe let the engine have more fuel! It’s only a thought! Something I always wanted to try! A simple adjustable regulator could be used would just have to adapt it!
  9. Could also be the egr cooler !
  10. try greasing the cams and see if the situation changes ! dust is quite likely 1
  11. Make sure your white wire is a good ground! the other two will be as stated or backwards! Remember everything is made in china Taiwan or Mexico !
  12. yes
  13. yes
  14. Have you checked the drain back tee at the end of the pump! Also the jumper between the heads ! Quite common for these return lines to cause start issues! Any of these plastic line can cause issues! Hate to see you throw money at an un needed pump!
  15. pull the line off the service side and see if there is air coming out of the chamber with the brakes released! check both sides just cause its newer don't rule it out shit happens to new stuff too!
  16. Yup cool Mackpro didn't think it was possible to copy the data file you are a true guru ! Soon as any of these hit 33 psi boost they would derate I hated these engines !
  17. If its a spring brake chamber with brakes released you should have air coming out the bottom of the relay an or the foot valve with the brakes released! the piggy back shown in the pic looks fairly new how old is the other side?
  18. Got to ask! these are a rare fail ! Why are you replacing it?
  19. Lack of Fuel in my opinion as well ! l Check all the simple stuff first ! Fuel tank vent lines and hoses to the pump ! Also if the smoke limiter has a hole in the diaphragm it will be low on juice! if you can remove the line to the limiter and blow or suck on it if it wont hold a vacuum or you can blow thru it has a hole in it!
  20. This is why we do pdi inspections and incudes greasing and checking for missing or loose bolts ! Once ran across an mr with a bolt missing on the rh steering arm for the tie rod ! Also a loose steering box missing spacers! Simple oversight’s the could be disastrous for every one involved! Like wheels falling of jets not a great scenario!
  21. Also check the stop to Mack sure it’s going all the way on!
  22. Pays to run lubricity a recently bought some arch oil additive perked up my old backhoe quite a bit burns cleaner running smoother!
  23. I have a a friend I have known for years in the pump business here ! He is the only guy I trust when it comes to any fuel pump! He built my 6.9 pump hes done many bosch pumps for us at the Mack shop here He is a little more price wise but you know what your getting ! He doesn't cut corners ! Worth paying a few bucks more for a pump sometimes! Pays to do some research!
  24. All good there all good ole cheap parts ! when I got into this business q brakes were just starting to take. Over! From pin brakes mid 70s ! Don’t know how many p brake’s we converted to q but it was allot quite the in ovation at the time! Just same old same old now! I’m. Interested to see how disc brakes are going to do or if we will return to the past due to the expense!
