  5. The reversing relay he is talking about on the intake came along after this was done for.
  6. That is same governor as I have on a maxidyne engine. It is same as a puff limiter. It needs connected to intake manifold.
  7. I have said all of my working days that a trans will not vibrate unless output shaft was bent or off center some way.I have a CH I have been driving that last DEC started to vibrate in the drive line.I have had drive line balanced and messed with the ride height and u/joint angles plus replace front rear end power divider inter and out cam with new imput shaft with no improvement and had started to get worse.Thrusday the trans which is a 9 speed mack started to slip and not make range shift right a so I pulled it and change to a 18 speed mack.I drove it today and its as smooth as a new car.I guess I never get too old to learn something new.
  8. At a certain point of rpm ,maybe 1700 the governor starts to the rack back on fuel cutting its out put and then the boost will drop as the rpm goes higher.Sounds like its working like should be.
  9. Most people did that because the sleeve was better for wear than the cast block. You could get a over size piston but some thought the block would be thin after boring it.
  10. A 3208 is fully rebuildable.i have did a few back when.We always bored the block and installed dry sleeves and used standard pistons. The 1100 series was not rebuildable.
  11. The only advance of the disc brakes is they don't fade like a drum.
  12. What tans does your truck have in it?
  13. Do a water bottle test and also a water pump pressure test. How hot does it get and is the gauge correct?
  14. Jakes are good for shifting up hill in lower gears. On a E6 your as well off to roll up both windows and hold the doors open.
  15. I should have said VMAC 1and 2
  16. The mechanical block is same as a VMAC but different from a ETEC
  17. I remember seeing the two different length spindles and it can be used for different hubs.the long spindles with one hub may use a 3/8 spacer behind the inside brg.
  18. I got one from mack about 4 months ago for about 450
  19. Go to their web site.
  20. I have a CH with 10" frame and I have read the adjusting instruction on a AL11.I am still mixed up and the dealer don't know here about it.It has mack axles and it say to measure from bottom of frame down the top of spring support. There is one spring leaf and a taper block under the spring on top of the support bracket. If i set the height to 4 1/4 to the support bracket under the taper block I am almost bottomed out on the bags.It I set the height from the bottom of the spring on top of the taper block to the frame that looks more like it.Can one you techs straighten me out.I have read this many times and my son which is still a truck mechanic can not understand it.
  21. So I started to look for some of old engine manuals and cant find any so I looked in a green motors manual and it shows a 18 stud 5/8 stud which that could be a mistake.I did not see ant thing on 9/16 studs so ignore my statement.I have had many of those engine down but my mind is not the same any more.
  22. 5/8 came along when the block started to have piston coolers and 20 studs.I don't remember the 18 stud ever going to 5/8
  23. before you do any more changing block the signal line to the drier and see if it cures the problem. If the purge vale in the drier is leaking the undloader pressure then the unloader in the compressor will not unload. This is common on a AD4 or 9.Just use vice grips to block the signal line.
  24. The 59 year will use the 18 9/16 bolts. The engine you thinking of Rob with the 3/4 corner bolts was the 711
  25. And use a line wrench on the line nuts.
