  1. I know were for 500.00 a good used trans complete is.
  2. Like he said different in the bell housings.
  3. The ENDT673C was a 250 horse and the B was a 225 HP.
  4. Thanks for good news cause now we all need to hear of something good.
  5. I saw some of those engines in B models with the small quad trans. That was in about 65 but they were maybe 4 years old. Mix trucks and i rmenber them well because they had the stopmaster or wedge brakes on them. The mixer trucks and wedge brakes is a bad mix. The mixerrs is alltime backing off in to the water vat to clean the acid from under side and that detroys the adjusters in the wedge brakes. The same compant also had the small six cly in some of their mixers to . One engine was a end465 and the other was a end475.
  6. For many years the # was 236gb311a. Changed many of them but dont know if that is still good. I only know of one filter for that can.
  7. At freightliner when i was still working i had a shop ticket that i could work on ever month to build things that we used in the shop.
  8. I never did see a F model with a by/pass filter. The by/pass filter will have two # 6 oil lines at the bottom and not have a oil cooler. A full flow parial/flow by/pass will have one # 6 and two # 16 lines at the bottom. It is a bypass and a full flow together. And that engine will have a oil cooler.
  9. That would be a mack and it is for a 89 year R model.
  10. All air operated shutters that i have seen on trucks or air closed but with the Kysor system that has a temp control bulb in the rad that controls the shutters by a manual linkage the shutters will be spring loaded closed. So if the bulb fails then you have a over heat problem unless you have a shut down system on the engine.
  11. I am looking for 4 budd hubs for a 44000 lb rear ends so any one have a ideal i will need to listen. glenn
  12. Years ago and i dont know about new macks but the tires should be no more that 3/4"from bigest to littlest in how tall they are. The poping is made from one axle turning a little faster than the other. That and good hearing. I cant hear mine so i dont worry about it.
  13. I like the safety switch it has on the base if you upset the base it cuts the power.
  14. Good luck buddy and remenber for what its worth there is alot of people having same problems and some that is only a paycheck from that. glenn
  15. Sometimes that noise can come from mismatch tires.
  16. You have to take in to ,make and have its brains drained.
  17. I learned something new , I have not seen a Vmac lV
  18. The B model back in the mid 60 used a 5 or 7 lb cap. The 10 lb will not hurt the engine but may be too much for the rad. and heater.
  19. I understand now i can see. Well electric is hard to understand some time cause you cant see it.But you sure can feel it some times. I like working with air leakes better .It is clean and the air is free and i can hear it. glenn
  20. But on this statment here you can charge that 12 v battery with a 12v charger but one battery at a time but no need in disconnecting it becuse you will connect direct to one battery at a time. Then to charge the other 12 v connect direct to it and charge but no need in disconnecting it.
  21. I guess i misunderstood you but if you have a flash light with 4 battys in it then yes you wouild need a 1.5 v charger and you would connect direct to the battery you wanted to charge and it will charge that battery still connexted to the other but you ant charging thru the others but direct to the one battery.
  22. Think about this ,if you have many 12 volt batterys connected to each other any way you want to connect them ,then you can pick out any one of them and put a 12 volt charger on it and charge it with out disconnecting it. This is been a thought many people have had thru my working years as a truck mechanic and it is hard for some one to understand i guess but you do nor have to diconnect any battery to charge on any setup. You are only charging into that battery. You can charge it when the truck is rtunning or not running. You can charge it when it is cranking .
  23. If you are going to charge a battery you will connect neg charger cable to neg side of battery and pos charger cable to pos side of battery. You are charging the battery not the truck so it dont matter if it is on the ground or connected to the truck, You are only charging the battery.
  24. My 2 cants worth. If you have a cap running next to a non cap i think the cap will have as good luck as the tire it is run next to untill you have a low air pressure problem and run them low on a hot day grossing max then the cap will go nuts before the non cap. The cap is more than likely going to get a leak before the non cap. I have a freind that runs about 50 dry box and refers and he has good luck with caps. When i put a truck on the road i had two caps i tryed and both blowed their caps . If you run local then i seen no problem. But when you are running hurry up and go loads and ant got no time to play with like so many of the freight then stay away from caps. If you are going to run caps then get them on in cold weather. I look for DOT to out law them. But i know guys that have used them for along time so then OHWELL.
