  2. well i dont have to keep up with it any more cause i am retired 3 years ago and dont miss keep up with the tech info anymore. Was donw at old work 20 today and the new engines that i was begtining to see 3 years ago is old engine now.The new DD15 engine is going to be hard to trouble shoot looks like and the cummins comes out with a ECM ever year. Then you have the auto shift to keep up with and freightliner came out with mutiplexing wiring and the new ABS control plus cat and DD wants the tech to do the waranty claims while connected to the engine as you work and cat ask you to look up you qwn part #s so if there is any mistake in parts it will be blamed on you. Then cummins will not pay enough time to do any kind of complete repairs so your not going to making time on a cummins. Freightliner quit cummins for awhile over waranty. glenn
  3. I wished you was around here i could show you how to true up those wheel with out any problem and it dont take much more time. Maybe you could get a old tire man to show you how to true them up. I am like you they need to be with in 3/8 true when you turn them. But in soft dirt they are stronger than budds. glenn
  4. A baby siren. My son has done that here with a Quad. I watched him and it looked the same. but remenber years ago the there was two series of gears . I think that is going to have to be looked up on the parts book using that 11QK#####
  5. Or take to machine shop mand say what should i do. They will either build up with brass and i have did this by brsing brass in there and remaching or they may consider making a salvage ring to go inther after cutting some stock out. glenn
  6. Let it set for a day and crack the oil pan plug and look for coolant. If it has collant in the oil it will turn to steam and blow out the vent and look like blow/by. see it mant times but also could be a cracked or broke piston. If it had a scrouded piston it would have a wack wack noise in the mid of engine and that is what some thing is a rod brg bad. glenn
  7. Get the model # off of both and post because there is more than one 1820 speed trans. I may still remenber some of this but will have to look at some books. Some have a over drive in the front box and some dont. There is two different doubble over drive trans. glenn
  8. use 85/90 allpurpose gear oil like rear end or 85/140 in the rear ends. Use 50w motor oil or mineral oil like white can aeroshell fore air plane engines in the RTO12513 and on the spicer trans with needle brgs use the same 50w. Do not use a multigear grease in the trans all tho some do but it can attack the synchro matieral and make it fail. glenn
  9. I wonder what a body man thinks of the cab for repairs go. I have hear that you do some gluing on panels for repairs.
  10. I love that dude that tells you about him not wearing any panties. The trash that is on the cb in unreal.I like to run with some good guys that have a sence of humor and respect each other but this bunch of guys that you see any more that is going to jump out and beat some scares me. There is some tough guys out there on the I never see them around the truck stops so i guess they dont get out of there truck. glenn
  11. That is enough . You are put more fuel mon it. Use a prometer so you can watch the engine exhaust temps. glenn
  12. Look for 5 postions in the main box. That would be 5 gears and to get a low hole gear put the stick in low or ist gear and then the back box in low. that is 6 gears. The low gear in the back box is to be used in the ist gear in the main box . glenn
  13. 5 speed plus a low hole and add that would be 6 speed ant that what he has?
  14. I changed a 60S out on a IHC dump truck about 3 years ago out here at the house and the owner got a later usede engine and i put it in. Next morning afet it was do0ne i tried to start it and it had lost its prime. When i found it it was the plastic bowl on the single filter taken place of the two detriot filters leaking. I ask him what was wrong with his old engine. He said it will never start wgen i what it to. The engine cant be trusted so i got me a good one. I told him he still had the same proble and i repaired it. I said what are you going to do with that engine and he said will you haul it off for me . Sure. It was 11.1 DD but about 3 months later a girl need it for her dump truck . She was happy and i was happy. It runs 5 or 6 days a week ever since then. glenn
  15. Your not on time eather i have 10:10. glenn
  16. I would start with replaceing the fuel pressure regulator before putting a supply pump on it. I dont know if you can put a valve kit in that supply pump or not .The APE pump had replacement valve seats. glenn
  17. I am slow and cant keep good time. glenn
  18. You are right . The lttle plug tells the story. glenn
  19. You will have some low gears there. It may have been a oil field truck.glenn
  20. Greed is for real I know around here any time a drug ring of any size is busted in most cases they have a lot of guns and hi dollar toys and cars and trucks. Just like most people would like to have but know they have to work for them. I have all i need and more than i deserve and that ant much but i dont have to worry about you guys reading about me unless i die. glenn

  22. That was happening here a few years ago and may still be going on. On companty here would still a truck and salavage it over night and set the laft overs on the side of the road and then would get the job to pick up and hold for ransom the next day. He almost got caught one night so they started cuting ever thing and hauling to junk yard. I am talking about class 8 trucks. Some one at the junk yard saw what was going on and called in the cops. I was in their back yard one day and saw a lot of good fresh engines and trans sittin coverd up with a tarp and i looked at one and all of the tags wa taken off of every thing on all engines. That told me what was going on and not long after that they got busted. Easy money will lure some one ever time no matter how dangerous it is. They would hold those stolen trucks till insurance paid and that was then 55.00 a day plus recovery fees and it was big money for the tow com.He and the Hazmat clean up team was in to a deal together also. If he picked up a wreck truck he made sure the fuel tank was tore open and that way the hazmat team came out and the clean up on one fuel tank of this over turn truck was 55000 dollars. The owner lost ever thing he had when it was over. truck house and will work rest of his life trying to recover what he lost to the fat cats at hazmat and the state has to know what is gtoing on. gtlenn
  23. For sure if it is a manual engine. glenn
