  1. I called Grundy insurance to add my General onto my current policy. I have 4 cars under classic insurance with them and thought I wouldn't have an issue. I spoke with the same girl I always speak with who has helped me in the past. This time she wasn't able to get it through. They said the GVW was too high and an 84 GMC General isn't considered a collectible. If I had a B model no problem since its old enough for them to consider it a classic and not being used for commercial use. I called Hagerty and they said the same thing. I am stuck now without insurance. Who do you guys use and where can I get insurance without going for a commercial policy? Last time I checked commercial will run around $10k a year. One of two things is going to happen. Either I have to find inexpensive insurance or I may have to sell it to buy an older truck. I can't see myself running it enough part time to cover the costs to get commercial insurance, registration, and DOT/MC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. V12 would have been cool but no it's a silver 8v92
  3. That's what I've been looking for. I'm just $16,000 short.
  4. Nice rigs. I am digging the rollback. Any other tow trucks in the mix?
  5. That's the same one advertised last year. They moved it and took better pictures. This is about an hour north of me if anyone has a serious interest I can check them out.
  6. Rear shot Two interior shots
  7. I finally replaced the shredded wiper blades after almost a year of ownership. Took it out for a quick spin on Sunday. My shifting is getting a lot better. Instead of taching it out and doing longer shifts it was a lot smoother doing quick shifting. While I had it behind my shop I took a few new pictures.
  8. I'll give you a call when I am in Atlantic City this weekend. I think I still have your #
  9. What year and model Quick-Tach is it? What is the lift cap. extended and retracted? What is the reach extended? Are those wheel lift arms in the second picture? Price and location?
  10. I had seen this a couple months ago just the clip of it going off, not the whole thing. I didn't realize it was the result of multiple attempts. Absolute morons. I love the jerk off who just tosses the wood block on the tires. The sad thing was with all the idiots standing around, the driver was the selected as the best of the bunch to load it. Pretty damn scary.
  11. Happy birthday Vin. Swift is contacting u today to be a company driver. Too bad you have more experience.
  12. Post a picture, I'd love to see it. With the snow I haven't been able to do much. I hope to have a new video by the weekend.
  13. I don't see any pictures. What years and models?
  14. I got you marked. My wife has friends in Bedford PA who's father passed away a couple years ago. They have two trucks, an A900 Aerodyne Kenworth and a Cabover Freighliner. I keep telling them to take them to shows. Maybe I can bring one of them out to this.
  15. If it had a wheel lift it would be perfect. But I could put a receiver on the back and pull our two car trailer so I can haul 3 at once.
  16. Found this on Craigslist. I have no relation to the seller just wishing I had the cash to buy it myself. It is just about everything i want. Anyone want to buy a boat and the General? Lol http://allentown.craigslist.org/cto/4316402383.html
  17. I think it's time to take a vacation in the Caribbean. I don't mind the snow every once in a while but this year has been ridiculous. Way too many days in the 20's and below. I can't wait for the spring.
  18. Thanks Mark. I would appreciate it. Stay tuned this weekend. I might take it out and do another video.
  19. That was cool
  20. This was the cb750 prototype. 1 of 4. One is crushed, one is missing, one is in Europe completely apart and then this one. Leaving it the only one in running condition. If you found a prototype corvette or thunderbird from the 50's it would sell in the 7 figure realm. For Honda guys, this bike is the holy grail.
  21. The forman probably said you shouldn't park there and the guy driving the Ford thought what's the big deal.
  22. The early sand cast bikes can go for some good money but this is insane. But on the flip side, this is the bike that started it all and brought Honda motorcycles to be the brand they are now. As a collector myself, I can see why the price is this high. This is essentially the FIRST of those legendary bikes. It doesn't get earlier than this. My gut feeling is the high bidder will disappear and it will be relisted again.
  23. That's cool OD. I had seen two General dumps locally. One doing work on RT 9 in Old Bridge NJ, the other was around the corner from my shop in Lakewood. There is an 86 General on a towing site for sale I've been checking out http://tow411.yuku.com/topic/123162/Price-Reduced-winter-Make-offer-1986-GMC-General-25#.UvGppny9KK0 I found two 5th wheel wrecker units on Craigslist I would love to get for it. Great way to make it useful. I can do some scrapping to make it pay for itself.
  24. I paid $8.95 for my General brochure.
  25. Needs a rockabilly band playing off the back of it. That's cool just the way it is except the newer style seat.
